Yeah, they're amazingly light too, i think a nice upgrade to some thin rubber tops would be nice, not the big *** plastic caps on normal stands though.

Glad to see another member that will be with the HKS exhaust soon! Sorry to hear about the shipping incident. By the way, my pleasure for posting the pictures, I just wanted to brag about how wonderful this exhaust is!
Post up some pictures and whatnot and tell us how it goes.

its funny because if berks did not have to go to a show and had one in stock i would have that right now instead of this HKS system, so he had to get cars ready instead of building a system for customers (you would think that you would always have one on hand for customers) just worked in my favor, they said i would have to wait till the 8 before they could ship, dont get me wrong not bitchin about berks they are awsome talked to them a bunch are great guys and gals there that is what i was after and then BAMMMMM H K S smack down how awsome is that,, i thought it rocked

I just got mine on today..
I had a tanabe before, I'd have to say the tanabe sounds better. Maybe with a HFC it will make up for it. the hks is a bit quiet, but looks wise, the hks is way nicer. |

But...trust me on this. Get some test pipes, high flow cats, or even headers, and you will have the PERFECT exhaust. No harmonics or drone or buzzing in the cabin. Just deep exotic VQ roar. I've sat in cars with ARK and TS exhausts, and I promise you, sit in my car, let me take you for a spin, and you'll hear the difference.

Have Berks HFC on my Nismo. Definitively wakes up the Z and enhances the HKS sound and is louder at higher revs.

I have been installing my HKS exhaust for the last couple days and have had a couple issues. NOT WITH THE HKS SYSTEM, but with the removal of my. OEM parts. I also am replacing the CATS with Z1 HFC. After an exhaustive removal of the passenger side CAT while installing the HFC the bolt stripped. It was not at the torque limit, it just stripped. I realize that a few cents are saved with less than optimal fasteners, but it took me several hours to get the top right fastener off of the right side when it failed. A trip to Fastenal and I got some good fasteners.
The driver's side went much easier, although I did notice that I had to use a slim profile 3/8 drive extension with a short socket to get by the steering column. Installing the HKS system was a breeze, although it initially. Hit my Hotchkis sway bar. Loosening all the fasteners and torquing from the back to front allowed about 1/8-1/4 inch clearance. All that's left for me to do now is reinstall my CAI and then fire it up. That will be a Monday task. Last edited by grant; 12-02-2012 at 06:59 PM. |
