Looking for an assist
I am starting to put my list together for upgrades for my 2011 nismo....I am starting to do research on what is stock for the car. I crawled under it for the first time for a close look and the exhaust is not what I expected. Let me go back for a second..I bought it 3 weeks ago from a dealer used with 7000 miles...so I assumed everything was still stock. The exhaust doesn't look like nismo I see in pictures...and I see a Top Speed TS1 badge on exhaust. Could that be right or did first owner switch it out?? Now I am questioning CAI that is in there too. I will post pics today and see what you guys can tell me.

Did some research and I am pretty sure know that is aftermarket .... After looking around I pretty sure that's not the exhaust I would have chosen. I was looking at a Greedy or HKS exhaust .... Not sure if I should just go ahead and switch it or just put $$$ somewhere else. Please fire opinions...I am eager to learn and like different input.

Could be Injen. I'm pretty sure the Injens are routed the same way.

That's def an aftermarket exhaust. I haven't seen too many of that brand. The one I've seen has it come together into a single pipe, then split to two can's. There are plenty of exhaust info on here, but I'll save you the trouble and just say go with Fast Intentions. As for the intake, there's some good news and bad new. The bad news is you'll have to remove the bumper if you want to remove or change it. The good news is that it's pretty easy to do if you have a little mechanical skills. They look like AEM or a knock-off.
I would also check and see if nothing else was added, just to make sure. Are the stock cat's still there?

I noticed... The car doesn't have 9k on it yet and the exhaust looks like crap...tomorrow is the first day I get to put it on a lift and see what needs to go...I have been leaning towards HKS exhaust but keep reading about Fast Intentions exhaust...is there a comparison between the two??? I wouldn't mind saving some $$$ . But I don't wanna regret it later.

Just put the Fast Intentions Non-Res CBE on my '11 Nismo. I don't think I've ever heard a better exhaust. Build quality is second to none also.

If you are comparing HKS & FI, then you better go with FI. You have to remember that you have to pay to play. Nothing is cheap about modding a car, not unless you do everything yourself which saves you labor time.
I would put the money into the exhaust to get the sound that I really want regardless of the price. To be quite honest with you if you want a bada** exhaust system & you are going to replace all three sections of the exhaust you will spend b/w 1.5-3k. Please do not be cheap on the exhaust b/c down the road you will regret it. |
