ssqpolo has the Berk test pipes, and he loves 'em. If you want resonated test pipes, GTM has them available.

^^yes i do. u will definitely feel a difference. makes the car sound mean as well. DannyGT did not like the rasp, so he got resonated test pipes from GTM. i got testpipes because they provide more power (slightly over HFCs), they were cheaper...and no1 else had them at the time. The rasp is not bad at all (my opinion). its only from 2500-2800 rpm under accleration. i do mostly highway driving 70-85 mph...and i cant hear any rasp/drone while driving. i think it really brings the car to life. if u wanna stay legal and have great performance...go for the HFCs. if u want a more raw sound...do test pipes. if u dont want that rasp..then go for the resonated! good luck and post some results!

We have seen some awesome gains with our HFC's. When we tested our HFC's Vs. Test pipes we found that the test pipes only produced about 2 horsepower more than the HFC's. Here is a clip of DDM's car just in case your worried about the sound or the exhaust being to raspy.

I saw that the test pipes have a mech. cel fix. Does this work? Also do you think that the cel fix in addition to some spacers or plug foulers could remedy the cel or is it inevitable? also is the smell unbearable? I had them in my vette and it was pretty bad. I plan on staying with the stock exhaust and possibly a y pipe. I am looking to do these in the near future so any help would be great! thanks in advance

Do the test pipes! Just because I am curious to see more people's impressions of them. I would have probably gone test pipes myself, but the Redline Time Attack rulebook states that I need HFCs for my class. The HFCs have been incredible though. And still no CEL for me with three track days, and ~4500 miles.

leakage? I didnt say anything about leakage, and i have a knowledge of the parts just not any personal experience on this particular car.
The test pipes like stated above are more free flowing, cheaper, proably lighter (not enough to make a significant difference though) but they will not pass emissions, they are louder than HFC's, sometimes depending on your exhaust set up you will get a pretty bad drone as well as a raspier sound. There is a thread i believe test pipes vs HFC, that goes more in depth. My question was simply do they give you that bad gas smell and has anyone been able to run them without getting a CEL. |
