The big difference between the two is the Tanabe is a Y pipe exhaust. It also drops to 2.75" at the Y. It won't bottleneckwith an NA car, it didn't bottleneck with a SC'd car, but I could imagine a turbo car wanting more flow. It's probably as quiet as an 18" F.I. exhaust with the full CBE.
