Dealers say a lot of things. Unless they prove your mod cause your specific issue your fine.

Ya you can do the upgrade w/o it voiding your warranty. I got full bolt on's and I don't have any issues. Try another dealership, it is all about the people that work there on how they choose to enforce the warranty.

Agreed, and it would be very difficult to prove that an air intake caused any specific engine.

Well I goggled and seen some covers you can buy for the filters to help prevent dirt and such. So I am going to installed them tomorrow.

That is certainly one mod that I would not worry about voiding a warranty. Go for it!

Auto Warranties, Routine Maintenance, and Repairs: Is Using the Dealer a Must?

If you hydrolock. Yes. Only thing I can think of due to the CAI.

It won't void the entire car's warranty. It's only voided if that part directly caused another stock part to fail and then you are now trying to receive help from Nissan to have it replaced under warranty. I work for a Lexus dealer as an Assistant Service Manager so I know how this works. If that dealer gives you a hard time call Nissan customer service and ask for clarity.
