Beating the dead exhaust horse. (Greddy?)
Yo guys... I suppose this is my first official post on this forum, but I have been lurking for a while. Bought my 40th Anniversary back in October '11. I have been loving this car.
I still have my '10 Altima Coupe V6, and it has a 3" y-pipe and a Greddy SE catback. It sounds fierce and I love it. So this brings me to my exhaust debate for the Z. There are a great deal more options for it than my Altima. I have always been a bit of a Greddy nut-hugger, so naturally one of my first choices is the SE. I thought that most of the choked up power would likely lie within whether or not I got HFC or TPs. However, I like to drive my car a lot (lately it has been a daily - I can't stay out of it), so I would like to avoid exhaust drone if at all possible. The two exhausts I have narrowed down to are the Greddy SE and the ARK Grip t2v2. Which is going to be the better bet? Power gains are nice, but I'm looking for the total package of tolerable yet high-quality sound (I don't want stupid loud, so I'm obviously not doing non-resonated TPs or LTHs with AAM short tails) along with top-notch, worry free fitment. My Greddy SE on my Altima was second to none quality wise. With the resonator design of the Ark in mind, would it be a smarter buy to go with the Ark and abandon my Greddy romance? Thanks in advance! |
Greddy is a thing of the past .. You can get way better exhaust for the price .. If u are conparing ARK to Greddy it's ARK all day long ..

The ARK i had was one of the best quality exhaust I have ever owned. And i've been through alot.

I agree. Their R&D is still continuing to push products for this platform as well. ARK also has a good presence here on the forums as well. Imagine that new exhaust with Ark's new resonated cats... No drone and will sound like 1000 pimp slaps at the same time.

You already know if you aren't going with Fast Intentions then it is ARK all day long. Join us and abandon Greddy :stirthepot:

Check out the videos on forum and compare exhaust.
I would choose Fast Intentions over ARK. The Greddy SE is pretty tammed IMO. The Greddy Turbo Ti-C exhaust is beast. For what your looking for Compare Fast Intentions Vs ARK. |
honestly from your position i would choose ARK. I haven't personally heard the greddy se, but i did hear FI and ARK. FI is a bit more aggressive than ARK, but when you WOT the ARK really shines. So if you are looking for a quiet no drone exhaust for daily driving, and a wild beast when u WOT then i would recommend ARK.

When I was looking to replace my 2.5" F.I. TDX, the only other exhausts I even considered were Greddy TiC (2.75"), GTM (3.0"), and F.I. TDX (3"). I was looking for a turbo application as well.
If you are looking to go with a 2.5" catback, I would suggest looking at ARK and Fast Intentions. I have seen and heard the Greddy TiC, but not the SE. Good luck with your purchase! |
I have to vouch for F.I. all the way. I'm running non-resonated TPs and F.I. cat back. I absolutely love the sound. Even the rasp sounds good to be. I get compliments on the sound all the time. I however get drone at 65+ when cruising on the interstate. It doesnt bother me but if you dont like drone i would get HFC or 18'resonators

Guys sell FI exhausts on here with 40,000 miles on it and they still look fairly new. FI quality is just sick. Fitment is always right!! Ark always has crooked tip and fitment issues. Customer service is mediocre compared to Tony with FI. If you go to FI exhaust is here? You will see hundreds of supersatisfied customers. On Ark. Customer satisfaction is hit or miss. Tony is 500 to 0 in positive vs negativee. FI bruh. You want tame? Get 18" resonators and FI HFC. It will sound tame.

No doubt, Tony from FI, his customer service is the best in the business. He's been around the Z and G platform for a long *** time and I have yet to read a negative comment.

You guys are fantastic. Thanks for all the feedback! I have a buddy with a '12 370 that has a FI on order. I think I will at least wait to check his out. I'm very picky with aftermarket parts and I like to see things before I drop a grand or two. Although I'm close to just ordering based on all the good things I have heard here.
Thanks again! |
