HKS CBE + ART RES TP = Raspy
Like title suggest, anybody having the same setup and problem? I thought I read somewhere that rasp may likely go away after clocking some distance but Tony said likely not be the case. Also, what's with the 2 versions of ART res tp, the chrome and the dark colored one?
:tiphat: |
which ART pipes do you have?
if you have the earlier version you need to break em in. Otherwise, you might have a leak. |

But i thought leak sounds more like fart than rasp? |
well, sometimes my farts sound like rasp...
|
anyone?
|
throw up a picture of the ones you got (before you installed them im sure u mighta taken one)
will help figure out. |
i always felt the art pipes sounded like other normal res test pipes. maybe your just hearing the hissing we all hear. maybe?
|
On your ART pipes, do the resonators have flat end caps or rounded?

My old HKS with Berk HFC even had a hint of rasp... it's the nature of the HKS.

well i didnt take any pics but found some in the ART pipe review thread that Tony posted, this is how mine looks like:
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...eramicART3.jpg From low rpm till about 3k there are rasp, not hiss, like tin can rasp but when WOT the sounds is orgasmic. Cold start the tin can rasp is pretty loud and obvious. While browsing thru the thread i found another ver (suppose to be the latest ver of art pipe?) which is this: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...iumCeramic.jpg any difference between these 2? Appreciate the inputs guys. |
