It isn't going to work for the 370Z. GTM hasn't been able to make it work so what are the chances this will work, just sayin.

the OP is talking about the GTM manifold... and what makes you think if they cant it cant be done? Have you ever seen one of their kits in person? Its not exactly a work of art IMO

Personally, I perfer the Kinetix Manifold but it doesn't provide any increase in hp. I've been in contact with them and they stated they will be producing another for the 370Z and should be ready late in the year. |

This is true. And I am all over it when it is ready.

Out of curiosity, what makes people so sure that our manifold is in need of improvement?

i thought stillen said they had strong support from nissan engineers when they were building their supercharger setup, and that the nissan fella said our factory plastic manifold can only hold up to a certain PSI. what that number was i forgot, nor would i like to guess and spread miss information.

I don't think psi is the restriction in a plastic manifold. Its more of a function of airflow.
Put it like this, 30psi in a bicycle tire is not the same as 30psi in a tractor's tire. |

Larger volume of air/fuel along with a smooth air will generally produce more power. Only things that will restrict it will be intake CFM. This can be exacerbated by to small a throttle body/s, or reduced positive intake pressure.
The idea here is to speed up the flow of Air/Fuel and balance the charge to each cylinder without disrupting it in the process. I could only show you on a flow bench, as a practical application. FI engines are not as dependant obviously as an NA engine, although they can benefit additional the additional flow characteristics. I could go on about the size of plenums, tubing bends and lengths, deck heights, circumferences etc. as it would only confuse some. Believe me, it's a bit more complicated then welding some stainless tubing and air boxes togather to design a horsepower making intake manifold. |
