It's not the cam itself you have to worry about. It's the valve springs and retainers / push rods. The cam works by opening the valve more, putting more stress on the valve train.

I haven't looked in to this VQ motor enough yet to know how the valve train is laid out, but when I did the cam in my Challenger we did upgraded valve springs, retainers, and locks.

Which is the right way to do this, but those of us advocating that path were not taken into account.

I asked jun personally and they told me that springs and internals do not have to be changed for them cams they can even run on stock ecu due to the cams not being too aggressive, you should worry about springs etc if the cams are aggressive

I don't care what the maker says half the time, I'd do what I feel most comfortable doing, and if I were in your shoes, I'd upgrade all of the connecting hardware just for that little extra piece of mind. Last thing you need is all the added stress to the valvetrain wrecking the engine somehow.

On the flipside, any company saying "oh you can use (x) engine mod without retuning, it's safe for stock no problem" can't possibly be getting massive gains....I think there is more needed than just the cam shafts, but what do I know?

If they are aggressive enough to gain power, you will need support.

Even if they aren't that aggressive, it is wise to add support.

Asking the seller is not sufficient. They want to sell cams. They are not concerned about your long term reliability.

That's the rub. If they're not aggressive enough to need support, then they can't be aggressive enough to add any power.

I think he ended up selling them due to not finding shops that could install these or tune them
