If it sat symmetrically I would switch out probably. But I just don't want to fuss with it. I love the sound though.

This is such a badass looking system. I really want thus system but worried about how loud it would be with my unresonated test pipes. I am currently running a cnt cat back which is a very similar design, but has the extra cans in the back for a lil extra sound reduction. Combined with tp's, do you think this system would be too loud when I'm just cruising around?

I know this thread is quite old but I am having the hardest time getting this exhaust to sit the way I want it to. I have read a lot of threads where it says to twist the pipes to adjust it but no matter how much I twist it, it still won't sit even. It's weird the passenger side lines up fine and bolts up with no problems but the driver side doesn't line up very well. I have stripped two v-band clamps on the driver side because the gap between the pipes were too big for the clamps to pull together. But when I do force the pipes to go together the driver side sits a lot higher than the passenger side. To top it all off the mid muffler is touching the cross brace so it rattles and its quite annoying. This is the third time I'm trying to adjust it and no matter what I do I can't fix it. Right now I have rubber hoses in between the muffler and the brace so it absorbs the vibration but it doesn't feel good knowing that it is not installed correctly.
If anyone has any information how to resolve this please help me out. I love the sound of this exhaust but if I can't get it to sit right then I'm going to have to go with a different exhaust. Thank you in advance! |

Have you tried calling Tony at Motordyne? That dude met me in Cali when I drove my car up to Magic Mountain. The damn guy I swear, he purposely went to the same place I was eating breakfast so he can help me after.

So you have a similar problem to what i have, however, the problem lies further upstream.
Do you have ART pipes? You need to start again aligning everything from the front of the car with the connections all loose. If you have ART pipes you may need to loosen those to alight the mid section muffler, i just haven't gotten round to it yet, it was all ok until i swapped out my HFC mids for straights.

Yes, you will have to loosen the y-pipe, it's really important that everything is aligned from the front first.
Once it's all close as you can, start slowly tightening from the front, tweaking it as you go to maintain position. My drivers side pipe is the one i need to realign as well, remember that's the side that has the factory support for the mid-pipe. Your pipes will be the right ones, the mid pipes (between the mid muffler and the rear sections) should be notably different, hangar on one and not the other. You should not use the vbands to drag pipes together, once you start the alignment, you notice things get to the right place before you clamp them up, you might find to get them there, that the rear pipes go out of alignment, don't worry about that to begin with, all that is done last. Lastly, remember the rotation of the drivers side mid pipe on the hangar is what sets the height of the mid muffler from the cross-member. If the mid muffler is resisting movement up off the cross member, it's the y-pipe attachment which is off. In rare occasions, you might find flipping the y-pipe and/or the mid muffler will help.
