sorry i put the skeleton door on and should have left the fully enclosed one - so the wind noise is abit high

didnt realise nothing happens in this one until 1:20 so just skip to that

Thanks for the vids, but wow, those gopro's really pick up the sound of everything they're attached to :(

yeah they do - really sensitive

i attached to the rear hatch glass and there wasnt as much vibration or wind

I'm planning to try again over the weekend to use the fully enclose back and attach the camera to the rear hatch just under the spoiler

hopefully that will eliminate alot of the wind speed and pick up the exhaust note (well in theory lol)

One thing I've noticed about the Gopro is its builtin microphone adds a wierd tinny sound to whatever it records.

I used an external microphone and it sounds much better.

issey.miyake 03-15-2012 04:48 AM

Yes very true

It's hard to pick up the sound accurately without the microphones, filters or pop screens

Tony when you use a go pro how do you mount the extenal mic to the exterior? or is that just recording when the vehicle is stationary?

MaDMaXX 03-15-2012 02:23 PM

GoPro's have an ext mic socket? :)

Motordyne 03-15-2012 02:43 PM

Yes. And just about any external mic will sound a lot better than the built in mic.

MaDMaXX 03-15-2012 03:04 PM

Great, i just don't own one yet, but i do own a nice little stereo mic :D - anything sounds better than a built in mic.

Motordyne 03-15-2012 04:08 PM

Perfect. That's what I did with my GoPro. It sounds much better. And they don't need to cost a lot either.

MaDMaXX 03-15-2012 07:59 PM

Yeah, depends on what you call cheap :/ I was doing sound editing many years ago, unfortunately, this one wasn't, at least in my mind.

Still, should give good results :)
