I still haven't gotten an email. I'll have to call them tomorrow during the day. I wish there were more independent dyno results too. The manufacturer provided one looked a little too good to be true, with a beefy gain in lower rpms too, which is unusual for an intake. |

A knowledgeable dyno operator can get a 10hp increase from a set of LED dome lights... Just be happy you spent $400 on new shiny parts and a couple of stickers...

Well if you spent $400, then you will get 20whp w/o a doubt. Oh if one just puts 35psi he or she gets 2.5whp.

So I finally installed the intakes yesterday and they look great and sound great. It's been too long since I drove the car much so I couldn't honestly say if they added any power, but gear changes have spun wheels more than they used to, although this may be attributed to my soon-to-be-bald tires.
However, I have one major concern, probably not intake related. After resetting the ECU, the transmission is behaving strangely during shifting. In higher gears, 4,5,6, and 7, the transmission no longer seems to be fully locking. For example, the rpms will drop down to ~1k after shifting up to 5th, and then when I gas it, it would rise up to ~3.5k, above where it should be for the speed, and then drop back down once I let go, sometimes to where it should be (let's say around 2.5k) sometimes back to ~1k. The downshift rev matching also isn't activating in higher gears. Instead of popping up when downshifting to 3,4, or 5, it would just slowly climb back up. This, and the upshift won't snap into gear as fast as they used to. Anyone know if this is just because of the ECU reset and that this would fix itself after a while? Or did I mess something up during the install? |

You didn't drink enough beer during the install. Now you have to drive the car more so the ECU can relearn...

On the underside of the tubes where the diameter gets smaller.

What is the significance, in terms of performance, of where vendors put the sensor. Either close or farther, and wide or narrow?

I am more than sure you do. The filter is good for 15-20k miles from what the man guy said (rep). Clean it after 15-20k miles & you do not have to use oil like the K&N & Gen 3 filters.

Once installed, you can barely see it let alone get to it. Bumper removal is required.

It seems like the car adjusted itself, although this took about 500 miles for it to get back to its old aggression. I'm definitely not going to reset after I put an exhaust on. 500 miles just takes far too long to readjust the transmission programming.
