Quick question
I have a TopSpeed exhaust with a Megan Y pipe. I love the setup but I do have a complaint. The megan Y uses cheap flex which has begun to whistle and it drives me crazy. Can I simply cut out the flex and weld in a piece of pipe? Will this work? Or do I just have to deal with it? A local exhaust shop quoted me $50 to do it which I'm fine with

The flex pipe is there to help with the twist from the engine. It puts stress on the Y pipe and the flex pipe is supposed to help protect the Y pipe. I would look for another replacement flex pipe before welding one on. There are Y pipes such as Stillen's that don't have the flex pipe. I would imagine it isn't terribly bad, but I would spend the extra $20-30 to get the stuff. Do you know if Megan warranties their product and if it is still under warranty? That may be another route.

I have no clue but I'll check on a warranty. I actually saw the stillen Y and that's why I thought about welding in pipe in stead of flex

Megan stuff always seems to break, i had some Test pipes that cracked almost in half. If i were you i'd get rid of that asap.

You can order quality flex pipes and have those welded in. I would check for warranty first, as mentioned.
