After doing more work on the G37 I found it will be easier to simply make the midpipe muffler outlet tubes longer. The muffler change does however necessitate making a new jig and new production run for it. It is being worked on now.

On the positive side, this change means any added cost for extensions is eliminated.
What would the turn around time be for us G37 drivers? Thanks

No time tables right now but it is being worked on at maximum velocity.

They've been making exhausts for a while now (350z and G35). The 370z exhaust just came out.

The first run of 25 was completed I believe. Not sure if all sold, but they did start shipping about a 1.5 weeks ago.

Boost, I would not expect anything less than your attention to detail. Been watching your build for some time and your straight forwardness approach to every mod you have bolted on and your meticulous research prior to pulling the trigger simply amazes me. Your write up's could be right out of any popular sport tune magazine. Props Sir Boost !!

I now have my wish list completed....MotorDyne all the way!!!

Great job Tony!!!

One additional thing I wanted to compare between the units was the overall design for the X pipe/flow.

The FI exhaust has longer primary tubes that run through their X pipe:

I have not seen pics of the inner works of their X pipe, so this is was it looks like:

Kind of hard to see when looking down through the inlet pipes, but it appears to be a 3 to 4" oval cut opening where the 2 pipes merge.

The Motordyne unit takes a more direct/forced path and the point of merge is about 6-12 inches closer to the cats/test pipes:

YXZpipe merge

Muffler divider

I don't know how each setup differs in performance, flow, or sound, but I though it was interesting to note.

its not that uncommon. any straight piped exhaust and a little extra fuel will do this!

Yeah, usually, the cat will burn anything left over, so running test pipes will allow the fuel through to flames under certain conditions.
