260000 jpy that works out to more than USD3000. You will not get bang for buck with this install that I'm sure.

Red__Zed 03-03-2012 08:32 AM

So they've got you replacing the VVEL assembly?

zuperman 370 03-03-2012 08:43 AM

the thing that i need to understand is that will buying the cams alone without wht jun mentioned work fine with the oem parts or will i have replace them with these parts and also how agressive are they

Alfamale 03-03-2012 08:48 AM

may not be just a plug and play install since lift are higher on these cams.

Thank you,

So my take away:

power gains are probably pretty modest. They are claiming ~358 hp with the full support setup, which based on the structure of the quote, I am presuming necessary. Of course, power throughout the range is far more important that peak...I'm interested in seeing a (third-party) dyno.

The support setup is pretty pricey...of which, the only really pricey part is the VVEL actuator...I'd be curious to understand what is needed here. Are they replacing it with a new stock part since they are tampering?

zuperman 370 03-03-2012 09:08 AM

if i take this whole setup how will that affect install and tuning?

SS_Firehawk 03-03-2012 12:40 PM

If I had the stones and spare money hiding in my couch, I would jump on it. Fact is, it takes more money to increase power on an NA vehicle over a FI one. Most likely someone investing money in these cams, valvetrain and pistons will most likely have all the Bolt on's already on the car. And just an educated guess, I would say pushing 400hp from a NA Z would be more impressive than a 500whp turbo kit. It may not be faster, but I'm sure it will sound like it :driving:

zuperman 370 03-03-2012 01:01 PM

So if I take the full jun package what kind of install are we looking at is it complicated and what kind of tune will be needed will uprev do?

G37sHKS 03-03-2012 01:33 PM

Good luck bro,

Just make sure to mention that your car is AT just incase..

Jordo! 03-03-2012 01:59 PM

339 ps for cams alone is NOT worth it.

That is going to be less than a 6 hp gain to the CRANK, and I can pretty much guarantee you they are talking flywheel hp and NOT whp.

Even 363 bhp (again flywheel) is not worth it for the full build, given the costs they laid out (over 3 grand USD in parts -- that's not counting labor and tuning).

363 ps/358 bhp is about 300 whp.

Pass.

whoLEEoh 03-03-2012 02:23 PM

Those are dyno number not flywheel. And it's still a 27ish whp gain on just cams and pistons. If you gain that much while being full bolt on then I think it's worth it. But if I'll only see 10whp it's not

Mandingo 03-03-2012 02:41 PM

Someone please by the kit and do before and after dynos
