Dynoed Yesterday Borla CBE & G3s

I ran my car twice first pull was at 281, the second pull was 285 need-less to say I'm not to pleased... I'm going next week after I install my Berk Hfc's

ZMan8 02-23-2012 12:31 PM

What dyno?

How long did wait after installing to dyno?

Z RATED OKC 02-23-2012 12:37 PM

It was a dyno-jet, in 71 degree temp

I've had these since November

BigT 02-23-2012 12:41 PM

What gear?

Z RATED OKC 02-23-2012 12:50 PM

It was a 60-120 run on a 7-AT I'm guessing maybe 4th

I'll snap pic of the dyno sheet for you guys

TerribleONE 02-23-2012 12:56 PM

Dyno #s can vary a lot... Did you do a baseline? It's more about how much you gained rather than what you put down. My car did 288 stock...

Z RATED OKC 02-23-2012 12:59 PM

The 4th gear is just a guess I'm not 100% sure but next week will be colder an ill have my Hfc's

My buddies stock 370 did 271 btw same dyno

Cmike2780 02-23-2012 01:03 PM

I agree with TerribleOne. You need to look at the difference from your baseline. At the very least, look into what other 370z's have gotten from this particular Dyno.

I may have a vid up of the dyno and dyno sheet hopefully it will answer everyone's questions

Correction factors can make a huge difference to the final numbers, do you remember what your correction factor was?

What correction factor?

That's about right -- on dynojets using SAE correction, bone stock Z's are in the mid to high 270's on the average (and sometimes lower see here --> http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...-dyno-day.html ), both AT and MT.

Get a tune, and you should be closer to 290.

Ditch the factory cats, and you will creep up over 300 with tune.

See my Proven Power dynothread for details. Also, if you can get the drf's (actual datafiles) and don't mind sharing them, please PM me. I collect this info for my database. I'll make any charts you like in return :tiphat:

Does anyone know if nitrous will melt Hfc's? I know its sorta off topic but I wasn't sure

Never been a fan of borla for anything less than a v8. I'm sure its the exhaust not netting you much. But, everyone is right about needing a baseline dyno.

I don't think they've ever claimed to make huge gains, but he also has the Gen 3's which by itself should be netting that much. You would think there has to be more considering how the exhaust is less restrictive than stock though. A conservative guess is at least a 5-10hp gain for the Borla.

wdkwang 10-11-2012 07:05 PM

I never got a baseline either. I went to a free dyno day and got 300.59whp with my borla and k&n intakes. 50F and low humidity that day.
