I think they are WAY too late in the game to ever gain as much popularity as FI for the 370.

I think a major reason FI is so popular here is because it was basically the first really nice exhaust out and by the time everyone else was coming out with nice products FI had already gained its self a major lead in customers and reputation here on the boards.

Though for myself I may switch over from ARK if this exhaust proves to have better ground clearance, I'm sick of hitting it at least a few times every day.

proper R&D takes time. i'm sure Tony could've released a half-baked product like most exhaust systems available on the market today. Motordyne's customers expect more than that ;)

ZMan8 02-24-2012 11:11 AM

 why has this become a one exhaust is better than than all the others thread....

I agree this looks like a great exhaust and will for sure gain a lot of popularity. But to go and say this will be make everything else obsolete.... :gtfo2: with the fanboy crap.

As far as switching there will not be that many imo unless they have had their old exhaust for 3/4 years and it's time for make-over. Exhausts are not cheap and they are not something people just switch everytime a new product hits the market. Plus, from what i read / hear on these forums, most people are happy with the setup they have.

To those that got this/will be getting it looks awesome and congrats on the new setup . It looks very well made and Motordyne customer support seems top notch.

quagmire87 02-24-2012 11:14 AM

I agree that FI is a really good exhaust I almost bought it and Fastintentions is a good company too. Its never too late to build a great product!

ga0887 02-24-2012 11:20 AM

So how loud is the cabin noise at highway speeds? 70 - 80 ?

I'm not trying to get into that discussion at all, simply saying that they are late to the party so it will be hard to make up market share when most people have already bought an exhaust.

How many people are switching? You talk silly. And if you do switch just beacause its a new popular exhaust you have to much money and should give me some.

i personally am not switching, i am still stock. i have been waiting for this to come out. i almost bought the FI but decided to hold out and wait (not very long, just got my 370 in november).

i'm certainly not a fanboy - i'm just saying MD puts out a quality product and a lot of the guys who are familiar with the brand from the 350Z platform are stoked to see it released for the 370Z. we experienced the quality, performance and service and know what to expect, just as the guys who are stoked to hear about other brands they are loyal to do.

but there really are some guys selling their exhausts to switch to this one. go surf around the FS threads. i've seen 1-2. if i had already purchased another exhaust, i'd probably consider switching.

Well then you sir have to much money and should give me some. I'm not arguing the point that MD and this exhaust is not a great company and product. If this was out when I purchased my FI it would have been a hard choice to make. Just some of the stuff people are saying on this thread are silly.

i'm not going to give you any of my hard earned money :icon18:

and i'm not trying to argue with you my friend. i'm going to quit going back n' forth in this thread. let's try to stay on topic and respect the OP's review (maybe a mod can clean it up?)...

Looking forward to hearing it, I love the look of the exhaust but I'm on the fence.. I do alot of highway driving for work usually around those speeds, and dont know how loud it will be.

:tiphat: Thanks!

KB2 02-24-2012 05:07 PM

geee...i didnt think my remark was gonna make everyone so salty.

enough of the he-said-this-no-you-said-that-but-you-started-it-frenzy.

What a strange mic setup you have. However, i can make out a very sweet sounding V6 there, sounds great and really does seem to quieten down when cruising 8)

That helps, so is it about the same loudness at say 80 in 6th gear?

Also it may be posted in the thread but do you have hfcs/tps on the car?

tibal 02-25-2012 09:46 AM

Sounds so nice. Can't wait to get taxes back :)

I would think so. The Z is stock only thing different is the exhaust.

MaDMaXX 02-25-2012 01:27 PM

quag, did you say you were running stock cats?

Motordyne E370 CBE +Art Pipes

best sounding exhaust system by far! pure genius!

I must say, ground clearance is bit too low for me...thus far have scrapped 4x...will inspect tmwr to see where exactly that is happening....still happy as F***K with my investment.

YUP! right on. thank God that is the only thing scrapping; the v-bands right at the axleback. in a bit i will be adjusting the whole setup and tucking it up more..hopefully that helps

MaDMaXX 09-09-2012 12:20 PM

Yup, you can adjust a lot with the clamps, even though it looks like it would be a crazy manoeuvre.

Its easy, easy to adjust. Rotate the midpipes such that it will raise it up.

It has plenty of clearance potential.

Tony

axmea? 09-11-2012 02:31 AM

Sounds mean. Your neighbors probably love you :)

johncy2000 09-13-2012 10:56 AM

Where do I buy this system?

CC QUIK 09-15-2012 11:35 PM

motordyne shockwave e370

There are so many good exhaust systems out there that I've seen and heard,
and it's hard to select. For me, the motordyne brings out the true engine
sound of the Z. Thanks again, Tony at Motordyne.

I did just that! tested it on a few bumps and dips on the worst roads. IT PASSED THE TEST! I couldnt be happier with this exhaust and my MD ART PIPES!!!! BEST INVESTMENT ON MY G by FAR(even when I upgrade to a ST setup)

Zerafian 10-31-2012 10:58 PM

Damn Im waaay behind...forgot all about this exhaust

shaun66 10-31-2012 11:45 PM

Only modification to my car and love it

EX350 11-03-2012 09:38 AM

Probably a long shot, but has anyone experience with both THIS exhaust and the ARK "Grip" for the 370z? difference between ground clearance, sound.....scraping, etc.

I think they both sound awesome and I'm leaning toward ARK because it just looks really nice! LOL

SS_Firehawk 11-03-2012 10:38 AM

I don't own this exhaust, but the quality of Motordyne's stuff is awesome, their support is great, and they focus strictly on G/Z platforms. If your looking for the more aggressive of the two, Motordyne is it. ARK makes a good product as well, you really need to listen to sound clips of different combinations using these exhausts.

MaDMaXX 11-03-2012 03:00 PM

I've only seen good feedback for MD stuff, fitting, quality and clearance. I've seen mixed for the ARK.

Besides, the MD looks great too :)

EX350 11-03-2012 03:20 PM

Thanks. I'll look into ARK a little more.

EX350 11-03-2012 04:35 PM

Well, I'm back and I did some more research on the ARK V2 exhaust and it looks like all the fitment issues were with their early prototype versions. From what I understand and read, all of the issues have been fixed and new customers have nothing but good things to say. Sound is all subjective, but you can't go wrong with either one.

MaDMaXX 11-03-2012 05:02 PM

Yes, i've found the new/current version is being reported as fitting fixed, only thing left is that it's not a completely drone free exhaust.
