Intake Manifold Worth It?
So I have the Stillen G3s, Berk CBE and Berk HFCs with an UpRev tune. I'm looking to get a set of Stillen sway bars, but then the IM caught my attention.
Is that a mod worth doing or should I stick with the sway bars? |
its a debated mod. Some ppl get gains some ppl lose power, and some say it did nothing for them. I took mine off this weekend, in prep for Friday (dyno) to see if it made a difference.
I gained 10-12 hp/trq mid range, lost 2hp peak when I was untuned and had Exhaust and ART pipes. |
Hmm...not sure if the money is worth that...plus I'd have to get retuned too...

So after some research...it doesn't look like an aftermarket IM provides any true gains when you're already tuned (which I am).
Sway bars it is!!! |
it made a difference for my car...i think its worth it u gain midrange which is very important since we have top end already
|
I also gained midrange power from my intake install. I could tell instantly. Made the car feel more torquey for sure. If your driving from 3-5000rpm most of the time I would get it. If you stay around 65-7500rpm all the time then no.

Bringing this thread back from the depths. Has this changed any? Just wondering if the consensus is still the same.

the longer intake runner of the Hr intake manifold will still move the powerband to the right by giving it more torque/hp Vs the VHR intake manifold IF none of them has been modified other than fitting the HR one on the VHR lower intake manifold. Peak power by itself is still very similar. |
