Default HELP!! service engine light on....anyone?

I JUST INSTALLED MY test pipe today, drove for about 30miles then the service engine soon light came on

I read that this could happen after installing the test pipe. What should I do? should I bring it to the dealer? or is there a way i can just reset it. Hate driving and seeing that light on.

Appreciate your help, thank you

You put steel wool into the o2 bung. Try that first.

You can manually reset the SES

Nissan 370Z Reset ECU

Read the process a few times before you try to do this its ALL ABOUT TIMING:

1) With the key in your pocket/car, push the Engine Start button TWICE (so the car is fully on, but not started)
2) Within three seconds of the car "ON" (again NOT started), Floor (all the way down) and Release the gas pedal fully 5 times within 5 seconds.
Do not do this too fast.. 1..2..3..4..5
3) Wait 7 seconds then floor the gas pedal and hold for 10 seconds. After that 10 seconds the Check Engine Light will start to blink slowly.
4) Release the pedal and floor it down once again and hold for 10 seconds. After these 10 seconds the check engine light will disappear then

begin to flash much more rapidly. After you have done the following turn the car off and then back on. The ECU is now reset!!

I do it every ~400 miles or so with my HFC's

Did you install these yourself? I would try the steel wool trick and reset the ecu. Get an OBD scanner or just stop by an AutoZone which does it for free. They will charge you a fee at the dealership.

O2 anti-foulers and steel wool should get you sorted out.

A company in Cali makes a permenate fix for this prob without the tune and constant applying of steel wool. I believe it was called CELX, ran me I think 50 bucks but I at least know it's done and won't happen again.

im not too worried about something being wrong, i just hate driving and seeing the engine light on. And the option of getting a different test pipe is a out of question. just spent over $600 to buy the TP and get it installed, dont think i wanna throw all that in the garbage and just go buy a new one haha. cant afford it. Im gonna try reseting it and if it comes back on ill try putting steel wool on the o2 bung like someone else suggested and see what happens. hope it works. thanks for the help
