Installed the Stillen G3 intake...couple of questions..
 

This system was given to me off of another car. It has some pretty deep scratches and I was wonder what would be the best way to get them out if possible. Also, it didn't have the vacuum hoses to go with it so I used some short pieces of heater hose. On the driver's side, the little plastic piece by the oil filler, I couldn't remember which way it was supposed to be hooked up to the hoses. Does it matter which way it goes? I have pictures but haven't been able to get them uploaded yet.

Thanks. Yep, I put it on backwards. I'll fix it as soon as I get home from work. Hope it doesn't mess anything up in the mean time.
As for the scratches, these are pretty deep but I bet with enough elbow grease, they'll get better.

I have scratches on my tubes too, but I'm not too concerned about them. Then again, I don't focus on keeping everything under the hood sparkly clean. LOL!

These are pretty bad...but considering it was free, I should not complain. I took off that plastic piece and checked it to see if it was a one way valve of some kind....it's not...you can blow through either end with no restriction at all. I put it back on the way it came off originally just because. Anyway, here area couple of pics..

Looks good. I'm debating to get the GEN III CAI or an oil cooler. Texas is a beast in the summer.

Intake for sure. Get an oil cooler only if you track the car or if you actually have experienced limp mode b/c of overheating.

I agree. Last summer it was 114 at times here in Tulsa and I never saw above 225 even with some spirited driving.

The aluminum is fairly thin so you should be wary of removing too much material when polishing out the scratches. You might want to consider painting or powder coating them.

You could always wrap them & get some heat shielding benefits from it as well. Sweet score for free though.

if I am not mistaken you can flip those tubes around and put the scratches on the bottom of the other side so they cant been seen. if that is not possible the only other solution is what has been said here and that is to powdercoat them or wrap them.
