ERZ to motordyne ART pipes

I am making the switch from the ERZ/CNT test pipes to the motordyne ART pipes, mainly because my dyno with the erz test pipes seemed a little low and they produce alot of rasp, some have said the art pipes have noticeably less rasp than most test pipes. I will post both dynos with erz and with art pipes once they art pipes are installed.

Looks like he did according to his sig.. Now we just need a comparison review

triadz 02-09-2012 09:17 AM

Yes the conversion was done, just waiting for my retune to get a good comparison. I also switched my k and n intakes to the stillen gen 3's, I actually had another dyno done but that was with the tune for the k and n intakes and erz test pipes, before the conversion it put down 298, and after was 290 but that was with the other tune, I'm going to my shop to get retuned tomorrow will make another update. With that being said is it common for me to get those lower numbers with the supposedly better parts in the stillen and art pipes because it was tuned for other parts?

doing a dyno on different days, regardless of what you have changed or changed nothing can be vastly different

you can go back every month to the same place with the same setup and each month your dyno will read differently.

most places that always ask for comparative dyno's always ask for them to be done on the same day in quick order with as little variability.

I believe you've messed up with the intake change, the MAF sensor doesn't really like aftermarket tubes/disturbances.

+1 Dyno's need to be done same day, possibly around the same time. There are too many factors that can change your numbers when you go different days and times

triadz 02-10-2012 10:39 PM

Well I'm going tomorrow so we'll see if not I'll have basically new gen 3's for sale

Jordo! 02-11-2012 12:18 AM

You can see variation on the same day too -- intake air heats up, engine oil heats up, etc.

So long as you are looking at SAE corrected numbers on the same type of dyno (ideally a dynojet, as they are all calibrated the same), the comparison will be meaningful and informative.

Do you have a graph of the runs? What kind of dyno?

triadz 02-11-2012 12:53 AM

Dynojet I'll upload em tomorrow
