Ok dyno has been completed final numbers with the stillen intake and motordyne test pipes 297whp 253 tq, the guy tuning my car said he tried and tried but couldn't squeeze anything else out of that set up, he told me that he thought the y pipe could be causing to much back pressure or something along those lines, and at an h or x pipe would be a more ideal setup for my car...any thoughts. O the 297 was also the last pull of the day so the car was very hot

Top Speed exhaust uses a y-pipe? What size is it?

Edit: Oh wait...Top Speed uses OEM y-pipe? That's definitely a pretty pointless exhaust then. You just wasted money dynoing a car while using the worst and most restrictive part of our OEM exhausts.

It's not the oem y pipe and its 3 in, but even if it was why would you think that it would be pointless to do a dyno when I have other bolt ons?

Wait so u lost 1 peak hp after all that? What about mid range? What about tq? afr's? Can u somehow throw the before and after dynos up for comparison?

im confused.

I don't have the dynos right now I'm back in school and I am away from my z I'll post em up this weekend but yes I did lose 1whp but gained 2tq, the tuner seems to think the y pipe is causing the lower gains because my stock dyno was with the nismo exhaust and it is an h pipe

I wouldnt worry too much about that man.

Like i said and others said, dyno's on different days = hard to really compare back to back, unless you run them at some super awesome facility which can control air temps, humidity etc etc. But even then, they could be diff everytime you go back.

For example, if you went back this weekend and just got a dyno, your numbers would be diff. Heck ask em if they will give you one or 2 free runs just to see that out.

One decent way to see how your numbers line up is to go to a dyno day.

2 years ago when we did a dyno day, all the stock Z's posted up numbers within 3 whp of each other.
