MOTORDYNE ART pipe NISMO--DYNO RESULTS!!

1 Attachment(s)
Got these pipes from Tony about 3 weeks ago. They are very nice.

Only other mod is K&N Drop-in Filters.

Sorry for the Phone pic, I have been waiting for a digital copy of the graph, but never got one.

Graph is NISMO with K&N drop-ins vs NISMO with K&N drop-ins and ART pipes.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the run with the ART pipes, I hit 155 and the speed limiter kicked in. At least that's what the DYNO guy said.

Very nice!

That's a generous dynojet but good delta numbers nonetheless.

Footloose301 01-11-2012 08:33 AM

Yeah the Nismo seems to dyno stock around 290 on most dynojets plus he had drop in filters that are good for 5-7whp...?

I love this graph because it shows torque gain, whereas most test pipes seem to lose torque.

I love my ART pipes.

Don't hate. There were several 370's Dynoing and they seemed to be in the 280's a few in the 290's. It was a Z Dyno Day.

All your going to hear from now on is how the dyno you went on was not calibrated properly, or the shop boost there numbers to make you feel better. Trust me I still here it beacause mine and about 50 other 370's dynoed around 330-340whp with similar mods at the local shop in my area.

Situation 1: A single car dynos higher than other similar cars on the same dyno, same day.

Situation 2: A large number of cars all dyno substantially higher on a particular dyno than other similar cars across the country on similar dynos.

Unless I am misunderstanding your post, you seem to be presenting proof that your local dyno is miscalibrated.

:iagree:

Mine was situation 2:

All other Z's except one was below 300.

Armonster 01-11-2012 04:40 PM

Then it sounds like you're in situation 1, which is where you want to be.

In other new, this thread is making me question my sanity.

This dyno is and always is calibrated correctly. Justin is always making sure it's set correctly, granted I dyno'ed at 5whp from when I was last tuned; but I had been driving the car lightly for a while and the ECU kinda "retuned" itself for my more DD'ing habits. It was awesome to see a Z hit above 300!

Thanks peter, it was a good feeling getting over 300.

If the 155 speed limiter didn't kick in, maybe I could have hit 315

Well with the tune you should have been able to remove the speed limiter.

I am just trying to learn here, so put the flamethrowers aside for a moment.

I have been confused about how come stock and on the sticker when I bought the car it says 332 HP ... and then convos like these where a Z breaks the 300 mark with aftermarket bolt ons. I don't get it.

332 is at the crank. Dyno numbers are at the wheels. I dunno what the drivetrain loss numbers are on the manual & slushbox, but they're usually 15%-18% on most cars. You can always get crank numbers by pulling the engine and putting it on an engine dyno vs. a chassis dyno. :)
