Default exhaust whistling...

hey guys, so i have the amuse r1 extra titan exhaust and the amuse r1 front pipe, but during lower rpm's or after i rev it a little and the rpms are going down, theres a really annoying whistling sound coming from my front pipes, does anyone know if the sound if normal or did i get a defective y pipe..? my installer also confirmed that the whistling was coming from my y pipes, but i wanted to ask you guys first before i assume anything... the reason im asking here is cuz theres only 2 amuse exhausts in the us for G37 which is me and another guy on the other side of the country but doesnt have the same setup as me, so i dont think ill even get any answers on that forum...

Are you running high flow cats or test pipes?

I was running the Ark cat back on my car and once I switched over to test pipes (Motordyne) I got a terrible whistle.....It was to the point where I hated driving the car.

I then installed the Fast Intentions cat back and it was fine. The whistle was coming from the x-pipe portion of the Ark exhaust.

I would lean towards the resonated TP or a small leak somewhere. I can't remember but does the Y pipe have flex built into it?

It is the Flex-pipes... they will make a whistling sound. I was told there is nothing we can do about it.

Just because the installer is saying the sound is coming from the Y pipe doesn't mean that's the actual cause. It's basically just incompatibility between the exhausts. You can replace the Y pipe OR the test pipes, and get rid of the sound.

I'd keep the Amuse exhaust, and experiment with different test pipes.
