Check engine light after intake install

Has anyone had any problems with check engine lights after you installed your intake? I installed mine on Monday, the battery was disconnected for probably 45 min to an hour.

Exclamation Check engine light after intake install

Has anyone had any problems with check engine lights after you installed your intake?

I installed mine on Monday, the battery was disconnected for probably 45 min to an hour. Tonight i was on my way home and threw a Service Engine Soon light!!!Plan to head to autozone tomorrow to get it read. But before I do should I reset the car longer?

I had this issue on my old car, where after putting on the intake, the maf threw a high voltage code. Just get the code scanned, find out what it is, and if it's no worries, just delete and forget.

I pulled the code but was very unclear by it. Each time I did the steps to pull the code I would get different blinks.


Alstann that is not an option for me to just clear it every time it comes up. This is a brand new car, if their is a problem with the intake it will go.

I'd definetly figure out the code/codes with a code reader, that would help a lot.

My code was based on my maf not being sat properly on the plug. Once i cleaned/reconnected it, and reset the code, the code never came back. I personally used a bluetooth obd2 dongle, and my android phone.

I will pull it off tomorrow morning and clean it, I will stop by autozone and get the code read.

The most common code for these are related to vaccuum leaks and loose wiring harnesses. Make sure the MAF is seated properly and all vaccuum lines are secure. Otherwise I would try a little MAF cleaner to see if that clears anything up... reset the ECU and see what you get.

Also make sure your filter is totally secure... letting dirt in will clog the MAF and cause the code. Most likely this wouldn't happen that quickly though.

Got the code rest, seems to be learning the new air and fuel. No light as of right now.

Found out what is going on.

Colder air, when the air drops below 62 F outside my car is pulling in much denser air so it can not balance it out. Hence I throw a code saying I am running lean. I am still deciding on whether I am going to take it off or leave it.
