Best Place to Buy HKS Hi-Power?

I wouldnt go so far as to say that HKS look sthat much better.. Especially if you go for the CF mufflers. I got many compliments on that setup on

If you plan on lowering your car at all even just an inch you will scrape your FI exhaust...HKS sits higher. that was the deciding factor for me....

I'd like to hear your setup with the long tubes. I would have bought them but my ultimate plan is to go turbo so I skipped the long tubes for now. If the turbo doesn't happen then I'll buy long tube headers.

Also, just an FYI: All the FI exhausts made in the last few months have been revised and they have version 2 which looks nearly identical but they have higher ground clearances now. Mine is an original though.

It still wasnt loud enough for me and surely wasnt deep enough The FI is much deeper and louder even with 18" resonators. The HKS looks much better IMHO.

Im planning to go with a turbo kit really soon and needed a better flowing exhaust with larger pipe. I sold my HKS to my room mate and I get to see/hear it everyday still lol. The FI exhaust is extremely loud and annoying at 90mph cruising, 80 is just fine. The HKS sounds stock on the interstate and I wanted something a bit louder.

Many people on here cut off the HKS resonators to make it louder because it's so darn quiet, but then becomes raspy.

I've never gotten a single compliment on my FI exhaust, whereas I got daily compliments on the HKS exhaust in person.

If you want HP results and music to your ears then go with FI. If you want looks and a calm exhaust go with HKS.
Interesting. So the FI is still loud with 18" resonators? It's so tough to tell from youtube clips, which I have listened to a ton of. I may have to try and find some people in the San Diego area with the HKS and FI so I can get an in-person of each. I think that will have to be the deciding factor.

What I consider loud may not be loud to you.

revised FI exhaust may have higher clearance but all the people that I know of in Chicago area that have or have had this exhaust had some serious scraping issues.... that is why I went with HKS, and as far as gains go with just Test pipes and the HKS exhaust I gained 22whp..... Now with the LTH's and the HKS exhaust I will have to get back to the same dyno on a similar day to see the difference also get back to the track....

If you are worried about the sound I wouldnt look into exhaust almost all of them come with some sort of rasp and can be loud at times its just the nature of the beast....

Eh, I definitely want exhaust. The stock is terrible. I have had exhaust on all my cars, but I am trying to avoid doing what I did with my M3, which was going through about 3 full setups before I got it right. My STi was pretty loud too. I think the FI sounds awesome on the video and I like the sound and look of the HKS a lot. Gonna just have to track some people down in SoCal to see and hear them in person so I can make an educated decision rather than an educated guess.

You can track down socal z's with HKS and FI here;

2nd Annual SoCal NYE Dim Sum Meet - Diamond Jamboree, Irvine 12/31/11

You can compare and make the right decision.

Nice! I may try to make that. Have a bowl game to watch that afternoon though so I may have to leave early if I do make it. Thanks for the heads up.
