Default Just got back from Abbey Motorsport with dyno graphs

EDIT: Just realised I should probably have posted this in the "tuning" section. Apologies.

Well I finally got round to getting the rest of the mods done today. The car now has, HKS air filters, Berk HFC's, Milltek Y pipe, HKS SSM exhaust and an UpRev tune.

And what an improvement it has made. Just on the short journey home, in the wet, the extra driveability was really noticeable. The exhaust note is also now considerably louder and comes a lot sooner after you put your foot down. It actually made me jump as I switched down from 5th to 3rd for the first time (it's like a dog unexpectedly barking in your ear).

Anyway, here are the Dyno graphs. I will try to make a short video tomorrow.

The figures below represent power at the rear wheels....

I had that same dyno done in the US. It's to the HUBS (not WHEELS) and *may* read higher than a regular dyno, depending on calibrations. Mine (350Z HR) read 8% higher....+25HP.
I would have expected around 300WHP with your mods...just my take.

Mark from Abbey (who has been tuning performance Nissans for years) confirmed that this was the power at the wheels. He told me it's producing around 350bhp at the flywheel and said it was probably the best result on a 370 that he had seen.

350HP to the flywheel with 15% drivetrane loss (RWD) on a DYNO will yield
298 WHP.

On another note, how do you like the hks filters? I've heard they filtrate less than other brands such as k&n, but my guess is they produce more power.

I don't know what you're talking about, but based on his mods he made fairly accurate numbers. Guys with tune, full exhaust, and ART Pipes or test pipes make 330+WHP here. He's fine.

I see that's what you have on your car. Are you getting 330 WHP? Can you post up a dyno with those mods? A bone stock 370 makes 275WHP...and you're saying those mods add 55 WHP? I will stand corrected if you can post a dyno sheet showing 330 WHP and those mods...NOT a Dynapack. I have an 08 HR with Gemini, Short Ram Nismo Intake and Osiris. STOCK CATS. On a Dynapack (like OPs) I got 306 WHP. Trust me...my car doesn't make 306WHP.
I hope all this doesn't take away the OPs *THUNDER*...those are nice results...but sometimes threads take a life of their own. I would just like to see confirmation on your claim of 330 WHP with THOSE MODS...that's all.

Err...I've personally witnessed cars at Performance Motorsport put 320-350WHP (G35 HRs, G37s, 370Zs, and G37 Coupes). One of our 370 members Romulus has a similar mod list as me (exhaust, ART Pipes, tune), and put down 350WHP. He can chime in and confirm those numbers.

I'm not going to waste time digging for dynos. Those of us who hang out at shops weekly and see the dynos for ourselves know what we see and we know the mods. You have a 350Z HR. I have numerous local friends from My350Z who put down those 300WHP+ numbers with stock cats. That's not at all unusual for VQ35HRs at all - just a few months ago I saw a bolt on + tune VQ35HR G35x (that's AWD) put down 315WHP.

I understand you're trying to be conservative, but these motors (especially the 37HR) are very responsive to bolt-ons, much more than you think.

Uh..ok. Would really like to see that 330WHP dyno with those mods though.

come on now ... you guys should know by now there isnt any dyno who read the same , some read higher&lower than others .
the only one that could be an online reference would be those Dynojet which are closer to each other..

Dynapaks read higher... common dyno knowledge.

Mustang dynos generally read lower.

Dyno Dynamics and Dynojets are among the most realistic.

Not to say that there is anything wrong with any of them, a power gain is a power gain no matter how you slice it. But the end number may be slightly OFF when you compare to other, more common dynos.

I like the convenience of Hub dynos which is why I use one. ;-)

I'm not going to sh*t up this thread with other people's dynos. Go contact Romulus1 on the forum. Red 370Z. Ask him what his car dynoed 2 weeks ago. Baseline on that dyno he used for stock Zs is around 290WHP for 6MTs, which is inline with our drivetrain losses of 13-15%, since Zs have very short driveshafts that are also made out of carbon fiber.

I'm also pretty sure Performance Motorsport has a Mustang Dyno - so the notion that all Mustang Dynos read low is wrong. It's all on how the operators calibrate them.
