Can't have one without the other... :ugh2:

And from what I've read, Chris is trying to bring you an essentially "plug n play" GTR Manifold swap with everything you'll need, lower plenum, upper manifold, and replacement strut bar. So I don't expect to see any real "kit pricing" or sales talk until the whole bit is completed...

That's my take on what he's doing at least. :icon17:

Updates!

binary0x01 06-26-2013 05:47 PM

Racecar!!

G37sHKS 06-26-2013 06:14 PM

We dont need the engine brace!!

sell us the adapters first then we can talk about braces!!!

370Z JT 06-26-2013 06:42 PM

Yea plus shipping that brace would be ridiculous compared to the size of the adapter.

LukasC 06-27-2013 01:57 AM

Coming along good cant wait for this to be done and ready to ship out to the masses

SgtGoldy 06-27-2013 03:36 AM

lol can you tell everyone is a bit impatient for this. Don't take it as everyone being pushy, take it as people excited for what you have done.

Now give us the adapter. NOW... we wont say it again... lol

We don't know who you are. We don't know why you want to take long. If you are looking for a sh*t ton of money, I can tell you we have it. But what we also have are a very particular set of skills; skills we have acquired over a very long career on the internet. Skills that make us a nightmare for people like you. If you put the adapter into production now, that'll be the end of it. We will not look for you, we will not pursue you. But if you don't, we will look for you, we will find you, and we will rip the adapter out of your car to make copies of it.

LukasC 06-27-2013 11:37 AM

Lmao!!^^

Really hope he gets the well-played movie reference there and doesn't take it as a literal threat... lol

What would be smart would be for him to hook up with a quality US facility and have them mfg the brace from his plans locally for US customers.

ChrisUR 07-09-2013 08:50 AM

I know it has been a while again since my last post but as always there are so many things that need my attention - even though I'm proud to show you the final look of the GT-R plenum conversion WITH strut brace.

Hope you like it as much as I do - the brace has been tested at 2 trackdays already and you can feel no difference versus the stock brace (although you feel a big difference if you skip the brace completely).

the last but not least important step will now be an UpRev tune to see what can really be gained from this but as far as "installation" I claim the project finished !

as soon as I have some patience to go through all the costs, steps and parts that have been involved in this project from beginning about 2 years ago to the final result you see above I will calculate a reasonable price for those who want to buy the same setup !

for the strut bar this is really no big magic, I could company with somebody who is able to do the welding and give him all the measures, geometry, material, etc. so this can be done directly in the US to avoid huge shipping costs.

Some of us with turbo kits had to put a spacer under the strut bar, and there's next to no clearance between the bar and the hood. Would your design fit? I know it's hard to answer without the car in front of you, but I'm just looking for a ballpark guess.

Chuck33079 07-09-2013 08:55 AM

Upon closer inspection, the spacer may no longer be necessary due to the way the bar curves.

ka24king 07-09-2013 09:44 AM

Damn I'm excited and putting off buying the m-370 in hopes this will produce higher numbers

ChrisUR 07-09-2013 10:06 AM

@Chuck
I'm pretty sure this modified strut bar will fit every turbokit piping ! the GTR plenum sits a bit higher than stock so the piping is also a bit higher. We made the strut bar so it clears both the piping underneath as well as the hood (its a flawless fit without touching marks on the hood) and of course the oil dip stick in front. Everything is accessible and can be operated without any restrictions.

How big of a spacer do you need? Can you go with a thinner spacer? I know mine is different but I have no contact on mine.

Chuck33079 07-09-2013 10:15 AM

Well, the main point of interference with the stock bar was at the throttle bodies, so the design of the bar looks to have eliminated that issue. At that point the only other bit that would need adjustment is the pipes leading to the throttle bodies, correct?

It's maybe 1/4" at most. I'm not sure how much the engine moves against its mounts, so I'm not sure if you'd get contact when the motor moves.

370Z JT 07-09-2013 10:32 AM

Me want! Sign me up!

JC671 07-09-2013 10:16 PM

Thanks Chris! I really appreciate your innovation with this. Please do let us know when you get around to it for the price and breakdown of each.

Will you be sourcing the manifolds or just the adapter and the brace?

If you could make a complete kit with just the adapter and any needed/extended lines, bolts etc and then have a price for just the brace and of course for the entire package.

That would be awesome.

phunk 07-10-2013 02:48 AM

It looks great and right at home in there! Congrats on completing the project.

Although personally I would ditch the engine cover!

wstar 07-10-2013 06:59 AM

Yes, the final for-sale version needs a "no engine cover" option for saving a little cost and 0.4 lbs of weight or whatever :) Looks awesome!

Kingbaby 07-10-2013 01:42 PM

I'm excited!

Also if the stock strut bar makes contact with the TB, by how much would you have to raise it to prevent contact?

Cause the height can be regain by cutting the skin off the hood. Add a spacer/washer to the strutbar and cut the strutbar area out of the hood skin! Thinner strutbar made out of Titanium?

Either way in for groupbuy!

SgtGoldy 07-10-2013 04:28 PM

I just got done telling my wife no more mods.... I totally forgot about this.... Oops...

In for pricing and dyno numbers the product looks amazing and will easily turn heads!

roplusbee 07-12-2013 07:05 PM

.............still just watching. Oh yeah, and I got an next day response from Kinetix. I doubt this will make my list of upcoming upgrades.

Boss_302 07-19-2013 03:40 PM

I have been following this ever since I hooked on to the thread.
The manifold setup looks sexy as hell, alot better than the plastic thing. so A+ in the looks dept. we all would love to see dyno numbers in comparsion to the stock manifold set on the car. But in the mean time what was the seat dyno? did the car feel more responsive when driving?

He spoke to all this already.

SgtGoldy 07-19-2013 05:00 PM

if you've really been following this thread you would know that..... lol jk. I honestly would go back through the thread and look for it if I had a minute, but it is there somewhere. From what I remember he said it was well felt through his butt dyno.

sstroudwku 07-20-2013 06:07 PM

In for one, I'm a Nissan master tech and about to head back down to school I know a few guys is motorsports who would love to see this.

370Z JT 08-02-2013 12:26 AM

V8Killer 08-02-2013 07:49 PM

Same curious on updates. PM was sent a while ago for specifications.
