Stillen exhaust with X-pipe + custom tips
X pipe and tips installed on the Stillen exhaust...I eliminated any sort of rubbing/hitting isues once and for all! I havent felt an ounce of difference on my butt dyno! I'll be hitting the dyno this coming weekend so we'll see...
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/3449/img0402d.jpg http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/5917/img3426.jpg http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/4329/img3445.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1685/img3446.jpg I like it - ESPECIALLY - from the side profile... The problem with the round with no angle is the side profile. I never minded the rear shots of the Stillen tips but the from the side they looked way to big + all the adjustments that were made just to get it to look even and flush all led to this! |
Those tips definitely do look better.
|
look awesome!
|
Yeah man, looks great. I think that is how STILLEN should have made them from the beginning. Definitely much more flush....AND attractive.
|
How has the sound changed with the x-pipe?
|
the X pipe and those tips gave it a slightly more throaty sound, so far all that have heard it say its sounds a bit more racey (not rice, LOL) Kind of hard t explain but I'll take a movie clip of it tomorrow since it should be nice outside.

Ladies and Gentleman what we have here is the perfect exhaust! At least till we see what berk has.

+1. Beautiful!
|
Nice Danny, I was just about ready to ad an x-pipe to my Nismo, then I stopped by Berk and saw the prototype they are developing. Bryan convinced me to wait
Waiting for your sound clips, looks great  |
Looks really good!
|
Danny, there's something about that first pic that I just realized is kinda . . . off. You said that the X-pipe eliminates all rubbing issues, right? Well, where's the notorious crossmember that causes all the rubbing issues? I don't see it at all in that first pic. So is it really clearing the crossmember? Or did you somehow remove the crossmember altogether? That crossmember should be right in front of the resonators, right where the X-pipe is. It's a little hard to judge whether or not you're really clearing the crossmember when the entire thing appears to be missing.
This picture clearly shows where the crossmember ought to be (right in front of the resonators, underneath the heat shield): http://www.the370z.com/members/semte...9-p1000870.jpg |
Im sure when he took the pic they had it off temporarily, then put it back on.
BTW Danny, you are winning on the "best looking z on the boards" secret contest. I hear Josh from Stillen sends you a free oil cooler if you win. |

Whoa, I love secrets  I can take another oil cooler and dual it up in the front !! |
Okay, so are you going to post a pic with the brace back on? Sorry if I'm being a PITA, but I'd like to see how much clearance there really is between the brace and the X.
|
Semtex, thought you would have taken my word for it ;)
You can see I took that with my cell because I didn't have my camera with me but there is like and entire 1 inch of space now between it and the brace. Whenever I get the car up again I'll take some shots. Believe me, I wouldn't have done all this and not make sure it was clear! |
1 inch. That's all I wanted to know. ;) Thx!
|
...thats what she said, BAHAHAHA.....NO
|
:icon18:
Looks great! offtopic//are you using any wheel spacers?// |

Danny we need to hear the sound
not only pic so when u can record a video clip for ur car so we can hear the sound of it ???? |
Why do people blur their license plates?
|
So serial killers won't hunt you down with your personally info.....lol
|
Well - I think i left one pic on another thread with it exposed and I dont really care but its done out of habit for me really...
I have a good amount of friends in law enforcement/bounty hunting and really it only takes a license plate number to perform a skip trace on someone and get a good amount of info on them.... |
Those tips are perfect! That's exactly the kind of look I want right there.
