GT-R intake manifold conversion progress?

Idk about you guys, but this is a part I'm very excited to buy. There is not much info or updates lately for this part, but I know GTM should be done with it soon as last time I checked it was already in production.

I'm making this thread for discussion, pics, and updates from GTM on this kit.

Ive got mine installed already ;). All seriousness though, I was really looking forward to this. It would of been a nice addition to help out the turbos.

Billy, you traded your Z for a GT-R? If so that's awesome. But anyway, I'm sure this part will make more power then the motordyne piece, but your right as the F.I guys should see good results too.

Thanks Jon! I ended up parting out the Z and selling it to carmax. Finally got the GT-R two weeks ago, had to go to GA to get it cause thier getting so hard to find.

Is Bullitt still the only Z with this manifold on?

The GTR intake manifold conversion manifold is in production right now... I wouldnt expect an update until after Christmas... The manifold is not on my car at the moment and will be going on the car once we are finished with my widebody.

For how much it will likely cost, I don't see a great increase in power unless one is already boosted.

Ya buts it's going to tits to have the gt-r manifold on the Z, lol billy how do you like the GT-R?

I love it so far, I can't help but smile every time I'm in it. It makes driving my 97 civic a let down, that's for sure lol. I was nervous at first that I was going to miss the manual trans but bewteen the dual clutch setup and paddle shifters I haven't missed it a bit lol. It still baffles me when I get on it and it just grips. I've never been in a vehicle with such good traction and handling. My only complaint is that you can't put the windows down with the unlock button from your FOB lol. I think I'll be able to live with it though lol.

If I had to guess I'd bet the part will be an intense install as you have to remove and replace both the upper and lower intake manifold, its not just a bolt on plenum like the Motordyne.

With that said, if it has gains all around for N/A and F/I guys it'll be awesome and worth the wait, time will tell. Personally I can't see GTM waiting this long to release a product that only benefits people who are already F.I. How much could it help them considering most F.I. guys are running stock internals so even with the better intake manifold you're still limited to ~550whp.

I'm still selling mine with engine cover! :hello:

dude, I would be a NERVOUS wreck taking that thing anywhere. It wouldn't even be worth it for me to have one lol.

Hmm, interesting. What benefits would this have over OEM? Will this increase the volume the manifold can hold (ala plenum spacer for 350Z DE motor)? Also, should we expect to see solid gains for N/A cars? Definitely subbing this thread.
