Nismo stock exhaust on roadster fitment issue, rubber mount broken, need advice

Hey all,

I just installed the stock Nismo exhaust on my 2010 roadster and there seem to be a bit of fitment issue. I don't know if this is an installer issue or what but it is just a bit off.

First, the left side (facing you) sticks out just about 1cm more than the right side. All of the bolts are on correctly or at least it seems.

Second, when the left hanger (facing you) is in the hanger mount, the tip is almost touching the bumper. Now the original rubber mount is broken (picture below).

Is the rubber mount different on the Nismo than non-Nismo (longer maybe)? Anyone with stock Nismo exhaust has this issue? Thanks for the help!

no clue, but i know you can get some new rubber mounts from pepboys that are longer.

i had to do that on an old car of mine

Hmmm. I'll take a look under my coupe when I get home. I had no fitment issues that I was aware of.

Thanks. I will post some more pictures tonight too showing the issues.

Anyone with stock Nismo CBE, please chime in (or if you know someone). Thanks!

Here is the right side

Here is the left side, where the broken mount was. It was already uneven before it was broken. This side sticks out about 1cm than the right.

you could do what i also did on a previous car, which is take exhaust wrap, and use that to tie/tighten it to the frame.

I took a look and I really don't see any issues under my coupe with the Nismo exhaust. It doesn't look like they modified any mounts or used anything different than standard stuff. It lines up perfectly out the back. I'm stuck at this point as to what might cause it to be c0ck-eyed like that.

Thanks @Somatic. I will try them out.

@WhiskeyHotel I am wondering is roadster is different than the coupe? That would seem odd but possible. I did notice the hanger (first picture) is different on the stock exhaust than the Nismo's. The stock is slightly bent upwards so it fits the mount nicely, but as you can see in the picture above, the hanger is relatively straight and it doesn't seem it was tempered with either.

I don't know. I think I will call Nissan parts dept to see if the mount has different part number for the roadster and Nismo/coupe's. But this doesn't explain why it is uneven in the back... I am confused. Help!

One of the rubber mounting points for the Nismo exhaust (I believe it's the driver side proximal muffler hanger) is indeed different from all the other models. There is a thread somewhere in here that discusses this.

The drivers side mount is different. There is an adapter plate OEM from Nissan, which is insanely priced. I actually tracked down the part number and was told near $300 for a piece of machined steel. The parts guy felt bad telling me the price.

So I fabricated my own extension, and its been happy on my ZR for 6 months now. I was going to use a thicker piece of AL at some point but for now its all good.

Do you think you can snap a picture for my reference? You think anyone is selling this part off their Nismo? Thanks!

Do you still have the part number? Thanks!

Go to your dealer Parts counter guy and pull up the exhaust of a NISMO model Z (not standard). You can identify the bracket if you are really so inclined to get it from this picture. Online I was only able to find breakouts of stock Z exhausts from various sites.
