Plenum spacer anyone???
Has anyone heard of a plenum spacer for the 370z?

The plenum spacer corrected an issue with the upper manifold design on the early VQ's.. the front cylinders suffered from starvation due to the original design, a plenum spacer would correct that, and offer some decent gains.
This design element has not been present for current motors, including the 370Z, so you won't see the need. |
Reviving this thread instead of creating a new one...
I haven't heard anyone talking about Takeda's plenum spacer for the 370Z. I saw one of their teaser videos, so I was wondering if anyone thought about or inquired about it. |

I could not believe the Z34's upper plenum is plastic. Reminds me of something Skunk or Kinetix would mfg and those were known to crack. Fingers crossed for a tight seal and cold air. |

The Z34 plenum looks like the same ones that come with '07+ 350Z HR motors. I don't recall hearing anyone complaining about cracking the stock plenum. Who knows what forced induction would do to it in the long run.
The Takeda spacers are different. It's not the "gasket" that surrounds the plenum, but it's the area with the 6 hole cutout into the engine. O_o I'm not sure how it all fits, but definitely curious. |
Correction: I meant the Skunk and Kinetix plenum spacers were known to crack with the VQDE engines 03-06 models. I have not heard of a single HR motor plenum cracking.
Def interested in Takeda, doing a search know for any info. And if they produce any type of gains like the 03-06 engine models. Then I am in for more info as they were one of the best bang for the buck mods. |

Interesting. Did it actually make it to production? I haven't seen any vendors announcing its availability for sale or anything. I could've missed it though.

Not necessary with the VQ37VHR AFAIK. Was a definite issue with the VQ35DE, but I think it was resolved with the VQ35HR.
Still want a complete manifold for the 37 though :yum: |
