Default top speed headers anyone?

i checked the search and couldnt find anything. anyways, while doing some online parts window shopping i stumbled on some top speed headers. has anyone heard anything about or seen any reviews on these? the price seems pretty nice for those of us on a budget and i know their cbe (which im currently running) and y-pipe have favorable reviews.

In all honesty save yourself the cash and not purchase headers. Spend the money on a tune instead and with the other NA mods it will be about all you can get out of the car anyways.

In that case I recommend not getting any of the above. The motordyne will give you midrange TQ but really not worth the cost. But each to ther own. Just sayn.

When you add the total cost of the part and if you had to pay someone to install them you only end up with minimal gains your heart will sink. Intakes, test pipes, exhaust, and tune will extract about as much as it can. If you added headers you might gain 4 more hp. Is that worth it? Plus you might have to have another tune to find it.

Remember are engines are a vaccum that sucks and blows. It can only suck in so much without being forced in. Then it pushes out what was taken in. So when you add so much NA mods on the exhaust side (exhaust, HFC's or TP) it can only ''free up" so much. So if your running let's say a 2.5'' exhaust and TP's you have increased a lot more flow already. The stock manifolds are a little restricted but also not so much in the end unless you were going for a NA build.

You can exceed 100% volumetric efficiency in an N/A motor with pulse tuning.

Pressure waves on the intake side can force more air in to the cylinders than they take at normal atmospheric pressure.

Next, pulses leaving the exhaust ports in the head can be focused and amplified by the header to drag waste gasses out and leave a vacuum behind in the port. This serves to pull even more air in once the inlet valve opens.

Its just super mathmatical, and expensive to do the testing on the correct shape, size and length components to achieve this!

LOL, might work for a single RPM but the length of the wave is going to change as the rpm changes making it impossible to achieve on anything but a constant velocity automatic transmission

no i havent been invited to any of the local meets besides the ones from zsport. i went to to track last night with some chevy buddies of mine and made a couple passes but the only other person i know who drives a z34 is my friend at jms. im always down to meet other z owners as long as the meets arent too late at night (due to work schedule). i will have full bolt ons soon though. i found a pair of stillen short tubes used and should have them soon. im not interested in forced induction at this point or long tube headers. i want to keep the cats for now and i HATE rasp.

Hey SATX370Z,

As mentioned above, I would definitely consider getting the car tuned. It really unlocks any untapped potential that the 370z has.
