I am talking in terms of power to the wheels. I may be misinformed, but based on the reading I have done on the forum, it seems like the FI exhaust is currently the best catback in terms of power. Is this the case? I was wondering if there is any other exhaust on the market that compares.

also, while I am on the topic, could anybody give me a scale for how loud the FI system is compared to some of the other catbacks available for the 370?

The F.I. TDX and the Stillen are the two top exhausts as far as HP gains go, based on the dyno testing that the companies and users here have conducted so far.

As far as volume of the F.I. exhaust, you can change that based on whether or not you use an 18" or 12" resonated setup, or you can get non-resonated for the loudest option. The non-resonated one sounds like it is about as loud as it gets for exhaust options without going to the GT-HAUS for ridiculous volume.

If you haven't checked here yet, give it a look.

My Stillen exhaust sounds great and the gains were good, however I wanted something a bit louder and deeper sounding... which is why there is a non-res F.I. TDX sitting in my GF's garage to replace it

Awesome, thanks for the info. As far as the resonators go, are they there just for volume control or for rasp as well? I definitely want a nice loud exhaust, but I absolutely cannot tolerate rasp. Period.

Would I be in danger of getting some rasp if I went with the non resonated version? I will be getting hfc as well if that will make a difference

Yes, the resonators help eliminate rasp as well, with 12" resonators and HFC's you should have a decent volume and basically no rasp..maybe a very slight hiss on decel. I would stay away from anything non-resonated if you hate rasp, my non-res test pipes are raspy as hell... I love it though!

I see. Well I was totally down for an FI catback with the 12" resonators but after doing some more reading I just found out that the FI parts are made to order and you often have to wait a few months to get one.... gahh idk if I can do that!

You mentioned your Stillen exhaust was not that loud. Was this with just the exhaust or did you have your test pipes on at the time?

Test pipes on, I had HFC's first however I wanted it louder so I got test pipes. Then I wanted it deeper and louder (yes I know that is what she said) so I ordered the F.I. Hopefully this is good enough or I'll be left with only the GTHAUS as an option!

Lol I see, thanks for the info. Guess I don't want the stillen in that case. I feel like there are not many options that give me what I am looking for in terms of loudness and power.

Fast Intentions is the most repped exhaust here however the whp gains between each exhaust differ by marginal numbers. There is no real exhaust that is head and shoulders above the rest. Stillen is ok, Fast Intentions is great but will tend to hang low. In the end it comes down to how you want your car to sound for the minimal differences in gains between each setup.

I have the 18" resonators and i'm extremely happy with my set-up. It's got a nice tone when I get on it, but normal cruising and I don't hear it except when going up slight inclines ... basically when the engine is under load. I also have the ART pipes with my set-up. They are almost fully broken in and the exhaust is much more quiet than it was at first.

I have a similar setup but with the FI LTH's and LOVE the sound since it's distinctive even when in a group of other cars with FI exhausts. It's quuuuiet for cruising, but let her rip and you get juuuuust enough rasp to let people know you've done more than just a CBE but in no way annoying. It sounds ever so slightly exotic and turns heads everywhere I go.

The best part is (and I know some people don't like it) but the deceleration hiss, or hiss after coming off the gas in lower gears... sounds almost like it's boosted. So even the cars that I myself wouldn't think of competing against because they ARE boosted even lower their heads...

I love F.I.

Evidence to support my claim:

What is wrong with the HKS exhaust? It seems to be the one with the highest quality next to the amuse exhaust. I also happen to think it looks the best too but not many people are running it. Can I ask why?
