If you already had a full exhaust and added G3's..

how much of a power increase did you notice afterward? I'm just wondering since at some point i'm going to get them. I know that the first mod obviously makes the biggest difference, and each one after that the power gain doesn't feel like as much.

Anyway... any experience with this?

I added my Berk HFCs as my first power adder, installing my G3 intakes a little while after and I noticed the car pulled noticeably harder in the top end. The car also seemed to be more responsive to throttle input but I could clearly feel solid gains from 3krpm on wards.

Yeah I could definitely feel the power difference when I put on my G3's after I already had my Berk exhaust. Was more responsive as well like Christian said.

ok that sounds good... i'm going to pick up a used set here at some point, but I wanted to see what kind of gain I would be able to feel from it. Hopefully not to to long Tony will have his set made and out and we'll see how those do in comparison. I thought many times about the R2C's, and they do well on the 37's, but as i've said before... the G37's front is much more open where the intakes are, and I just don't think they'd get the same kind of power on our Z's.

Anyone have a dyno for this? ive been curious for a while...

That's what I did, just picked up a set for $300 shipped and they work perfectly fine! :happydance:

i put g3's on after i had my f.i exhaust and i noticed a slight deeper growl at around 3-4k rpm. they are known to produce power mainly at the top end so thats what you should except.

Yeah, i'm going to add those and a set of pulleys, tune it and that will be it!

I did the opposite...

G3's before exhaust and I was impressed.

Added a CBE and the power came like whoa! Driving a stock Z is depressing to me now.

At first I had FI Long Tubes and custom straight piping to the stock muffler with k&n drop in filters plus an Uprev tune. Afterward I switched to a real catback and got the Meisterschaft exhaust. I dynoed after, now I know the tune was set for the straight pipes but the ca was suffocating big time. After adding Injen Long Tubes I got good power through the whole powerband and probably will get more once I get a retune.

looked into the Injens, but it's just to much water around here for that... especially where I am living now there are A LOT of low spots around here.

Yeah I wouldn't have got them save for the kick *** deal from a forum member and the fact that its a weekend warrior.

I've heard good things about them... but the whole water thing is to much.

B1ades has got the Stillen G3 and they look, sound and feel amazing. I must be honest I wasn't expecting it when he hit the gas, huge difference over the stock. The injens sit lower than the Stillens.

Methodical4u 09-29-2011 08:46 PM

wasn't takeda making a new long tube style intake that had a single larger filter? Whatever happened to that?
