People with topspeed exhaust, plz help
So my exhaust is uneven, the right tip sticks out more than the left :icon14:
And it rattles like crazy against the cross member, I tighten all the bolts and even try to bend the midpipe a little bit, it helped for a little while but now the rattles came back worse than ever. Any suggestions?? |
Mines the same problem but i have no rattle and my left tip sticks out more than the right. I had mine done at a exhaust shop...wish I could be a help but im on the same boat with it not being even.

Take the 4 inner most bolts out of the cross-member and put about 1/4" worth of washers as spacers in there. That's what i had to do with my topspeed exhaust.
As far as the fitment... Loosen up all bolts from ypipe back and try to adjust it as much as you can to where it fits correctly then re-tighten. You can also loosen up the exhaust hanger bolts and get some adjustment that way also. I went through 2 topspeed exhausts and hat fitment issues with both that i ended up being able to correct by messing with it for a while. |

even tips here. I did have the crossmember rattle but the washers fixed it.
Good luck  |
Thanks a lot guys, I will try the washer trick !!!!
|
I have the rattle also. Tried to fix it every single way other than lowering the brace with some spacers... that's next on the list.
|
Did the same thing used a bunch of washers between crossmember . no more rattle and adjusted it as best i could to make it even .
|
It works, thanks for the advice guys !!

The pipe is a little too low, so it rests on the crossmember. Adding washers to the underside of the crossmember pushes it away from the exhaust, which stops it from rattling.
I left my crossmember alone and put a piece of heatwrap around the pipe... no more rattle. |
Oh guys, I'm trying to make the car a little louder by adding HFC, which one is best compatible with Top Speed exhaust? I know Berk is one but it's kinda expensive !! Thanks

[QUOTE=tonybui;1319669] try to bend the midpipe a little bit[QUOTE]
this is a bad idea as the exhaust is designed to maximize flow. causing unintended bends can and most likely will reduce performance. i have the top speed exhaust and like others had to use the washer trick on the cross bar. i also had to add washers the the mounts that hold the rubber hangers after i noticed that the left tip was starting to melt my rear bumper. also i have kinetix hfc's and its plenty loud and i have had good gains with this hfc/ exhaust combo. dont forget a good y-pipe! good luck! |
mine fits fine. had to tighten the bastard tho
|
Can you post some photos of your top speed exhaust? the one on the website is really small. And how big is the diameter of the single pipe? does it compensate for losing one pipe?
