Stock Exhaust Without Resonators (Video Included)

370Z Stock Exhaust No Resonators - YouTube

iPhone video of stock exhaust with the resonators deleted from the midpipe.
It sounds good, but is a little raspy. No drone. Quiet like stock under light acceleration. ~1.3x louder than stock under WOT. Higher tone than stock.
Costs about $60-100 to get resonators removed from a shop.

Love the sound might do it.

Rui Z 10-25-2011 03:18 AM

If you are on a budget or want a higher tone exhaust, I recommend it. Most aftermarket exhaust make the exhaust lower/deeper sounding. Removing the resonators has the opposite effect. It makes it a higher pitched, albeit harsher sounding, exhaust. If that's what you prefer, go for it. It should cost less than $100. Mine was $60.

Chmyles2 11-01-2011 05:57 PM

Does this have any effect on you power output?

Rui Z 11-01-2011 06:21 PM

No change in power.

Any drone inside the cabin?

Rui Z 11-01-2011 07:08 PM

No drone at all. Drone comes from lower frequency/sound. Resonators eliminate higher frequency sounds. So, removing the resonators gives it more rasp, higher tone, popping, etc. Drone is more of a muffler issue.

^ok, cool. thanks

Nick Choi 12-10-2011 09:14 AM

cool sound! thanks Rui!

AlexRaymond19 12-12-2011 10:00 PM

Sounds sick, what exactly is done to the exhaust? Do they just have to take them off? Or do they have to add something to it? Also, is it louder inside the cabin? Thats what im looking for mainly. Pisses me off that i can hardly hear my exhaust while i am driving
