Hmm.. May have to do that as I don't drive the car at all when it rains and if it does, I head straight home.

I had an RSX Type S with the injen cai's and just say I almost hydrolocked my motor. 6 oil changes later and all the water was out the motor..

The other option is to make some kind of baffle/surround that you could C-clamp over the Injens filter that would block the bottom side of it from water... But then really, these are things Injen should have R&D'd in product development... I'm kinda surprised their product has had so many problems with Z's.

At Injen's defense, their products are "intended for off-road use only." ;-)

True, but I doubt flooding is much of an issue on a race track where these products are intended for. =)

Well isn't a race track just a 'road course' So if it's intended for 'off road' use, then it's not intended for a track.

srsly though, I don't see why it would work on a track, and not on the street, when both have to have the same anti flood measures built in right??

It's simple really if you think about it... On a track you would stop a race during inclement weather.

That's not true at all. Only NASCAR and Indy wimps out when it rains, everyone else runs in anything less than a monsoon.

Here's K&N's response to my inquiries guys:

"The OE department guys should have asked that you not post anything to a forum, or even show people that you have this intake until it is released to the public. What you have is a prototype, and is not approved yet. Nissan, or whatever division thereof, is being sold the kit to do as they please with it. They could never release this project for all we know. It is not supposed to be public knowledge what company makes what parts for the performance divisions of manufactures. The OE department and AEM are two divisions of a larger organization, so their intake kits are usually very different from each other. Please keep the information, which you have obtained by loaning us your vehicle, to yourself. Please, do not post any more."

Too bad I did not sign a non-disclosure contract of any kind. =P

Only the sprint cup series... I believe on road races Nascar's Nationwide series does run in the rain, as I have seen the tires they used before... same as with Indycars... obviously they aren't going to run in the rain on 200 mph+ oval tracks.

It's been so many years that I check up what company hooked up with what. So...who's AEM and K&N's parent company?

It's not like it looks all that impressive anyway... I doubt it yields the gains that the G3's do.

That is a good question and I've been trying to find that out myself.
