The foam piece is something you want. In the event of water being taken in the main filter, air is drawn from these filters instead to prevent hydro-lock. Ask anyone with injen intakes in a damp climate. They will ask for these lol

Made by K&N; Foam piece is to comply with OE specifications required by Nissan; Gains?... no clue; How much?... free for me as the guinea pig ;-) That's all I know. |

Yes and no. AEM was part of the development but they still needed to make sure it complied with strict OE specifications. Apparently this has been in the works for a while Nissan just hasn't jumped the gun on it until now.
