Default Help with exhaust decision ?

Now I know that this might be up already bit still going to make a new topic see if you guys can help? I love the sound of the FI exhaust but a lot off people have told me that when you get that exhaust you can't really drop the car because you will scrape a lot. So have you guys have the problem ? Help will be more appreciated Thanks

The FI design changed a couple months ago which raised the lowest part of the system back up I think around 1/2" or so

you sure about that? i have never heard this...

On any hand, I have a FI and yes, it would make me a little nervous about lowering it. When I looked at exhausts, i wanted an exhaust that made the most power. A lot of exhausts dont even have dyno charts and people buy them for the sound, to me, thats crazy...

yeah, that Exoticspeed you have does sound really good on these motors I have to say. I'm wondering if the F.I. still makes more power though... not that it would be that big of a difference... but still am curious.

yeah, i've read through their thread and haven't heard about it being raised either. I'm not interested in lowering... but that would help a lot of guys who are make their choice in what exhaust to get.

Swifts + FI. No issues for me yet. I worry more about my front scraping than my exhaust.

There are a TON of exhausts out there for this car and they and/or the Stillen G3's are the 2 biggest power mods, and while some exhausts do indeed show more power gain than others, it's really about listening and going with what YOU like. It's not an easy decision I know... i'm still thinking about it and waiting for both ARK and Motordyne to come out with their new systems before I make my final choice.

Keep in mind though that some are going to be so loud it gives you a headache on a long drive, or you have to yell for your passenger to hear you... for me that's not worth a few extra hp... BUT that's me and some people are ok with that. Good luck.

I'm not sure if you're looking to purchase immediately, but if so we've got an overstock Mackin MXP exhaust. I could get you a great deal on it.

If you're not looking to buy immediately, or are really set on the FI, it's usually the flanges that hit the ground 1st from what I've heard. You may be able to grind them down a little, but it's not going to help you get any lower. It'll just minimize the chance of it hitting the ground.

INSANE PRICE!! | Mackin MXP True Dual Exhaust | 1 ONLY!!

If something is gonna hit on the FI are the cans. There are no low flanges. ARK on the other side has low flanges which will hit before the cans do.

I called Tony yesterday because I was gonna ask him about welding some skids on the bottom of the cans since I just put swift's on. He told me it would be a waste because it has been raised up due to clearance regulations in oz and I think its great news to everyone who is concerned about scraping.

I have the 'old' F.I. Exhaust at the original height, and I'm lowered 1" all around on K&W V3's and I can say I have never once scraped the cans. The front end, sure, but never the back end. The only way to scrape them is to do something wrong. i.e. take a speed bump with only one side, go over a large rock down the center, etc. etc. Perfectly happy with F.I. and being lowered. As long as you pay attention and do things right, you won't scrape.

I agree

FI has to be the best product out there and good luck getting better customer service from another manufacturer!
