I was just going to remove mine tomorrow. Having a thin piece of metal like that is just bound to rattle.

I got the same exact situation going on with my berk cbe setup. Around 4K rpm's i get a rattle from the rear, passenger side. Sounds like it's internal, but not a 100% sure about that. I did check the heat shield and it's not the issue. Nothing seems to be even close to rubbing/touching in the under carriage. This noise is an f'n irritant and it's starting to drive me nuts.

I removed my heat shield and it did not work. It is coming from inside. I took all the plastic off the hatch itself and tightend every bolt and still there. Next I am going to remove all plastic from trunk.

I feel it's more so the body itself. Being that the seems are pinch welded together. This may case some rattles if the two pieces of the body are not completely seemed perfect.

I had to remove a heat shield right behide the rear quarter panel on the pass side, it was for some evap thing i think. but no more rattle, maybe try that one?
