Default ark grip/hfc/test pipe combo

This past week Ive installed ark exhaust on my nismo. Deffinitely looks and sounds great but on the deaccelaration between 3200-2000 rpms theres this whistling noise comming from the x-pipe that is very annoying especially at night. After installing it I found out its because of the hfcs(erz) that I have. I know that ark is working on a hfc that will eliminate the noise but it will take some time before its finished. So my question is if anybody got lucky and has a combo of hfc or test pipes with ark grip exhaust that eliminates the whistling noise?

Is this problem just with the ark/erz combo? I have the erz/cnt hfc's, but won't have my fi tdx for a couple weeks, hope I won't have this whistling sound.

i believe that no matter what test pipe or high flow cat you run, you will get a hiss/whistle at around 3000 rpm. everyone that i've seen with hfc/tp have the hiss. i've gotten used to mine so i dont really mind it anymore

I think you should be ok. Its Ark's x-pipe thats cousing the noise. You should be just fine with FI exhaust. I was thinking about getting FI one instead but didnt really wanna wait plus was couple of hundred $$ more. Now I kinda regret it...

Seems to be a trend with F.I. Everybody is put on a waiting list. Being a business owner myself they better get while the getting is good. The opportunist competitors are starting to make there mark. For me im sticking with my (so called sucky) stock nismo exhaust longtube header setup....

The rasp/hiss is not from the exhaust but from the testpipes and HFCs. This is known to be a fact. Whether you go with another brand exhaust, you WILL still get the hiss/RASP.

I guess theres nothing else left for me but to hear some other exhaust combos in person before jumping into any conclusions. Id love to keep this one so if I hear the same hissing noise in diff setups its not gonna bug me as much and then I just leave it alone. Hopefully you guys at Ark can come up with a hfcs that will minimize the hiss. Any eta in that?

The Howl/Whistle is what I like to call it, I had a whole write up in my journal thread about it including links to videos with it... My conclusion is that the way the X pipe is designed it cant handle the extra flow that happens when installing HFC's or Test Pipes.... Just save yourself the trouble get rid of it and go with FI or HKS and combo up TP or HFC's or get the longtube headers and you wont be dissapointed

Here is link to my journal thread with write up.

Thats what I decided to do. I will be putting my stock nismo exhaust up for sale and once someone picks it up Ill order FI one. Hate to do this but the noise its unbearable just like you have mentioned it in your tread. Down shifting should make me smile but it just does the complete opposite.
