Hey guys, I've searched the forum and couldn't find too many posts on this. But, how many have damaged their o2 sensors while removing them from their stock cats ?.

How many have damaged their o2 sensors removing them from stock cats ?
Hey guys, I've searched the forum and couldn't find too many posts on this. But, how many have damaged their o2 sensors while removing them from their stock cats ?. I'm planning on installing test pipes soon and i already know about the demon bolt, but don't want any more surprises as i'm doing it.

You would have to try pretty hard to damage them. You can get them off pretty easily using an open-ended wrench and rubber mallet. They will be pretty tight but just tap away at them a bit and they come right out.

No problems here, if you feel resistance as you start to unscrew it and the resistance increases the more you try to turn it, you most likely have started cross threading the sensor. But you shouldn't have problems, they are simple to remove and install.

One of mine came out with no threads left. I knew something was wrong as there was consistent resistance during the entire removal process where as the other one cracked and then spun out freely. I figure just lack of care during installation, it's been a common complaint.

I would say yes. The things that differentiate in that case will be steel quality, weld quality, O2 bung shape, and if there is an extra bung for a wideband sensor.
