I tell you what. If you order it and have it shipped to me, I'll do a dyno. I'll even do two dynos!

They basically have their hands in everything. Saclam assisted ASM in producing some of their products and together they were able to roll out a few unique S2000 products. For those of you who are unaware, ASM is the creater of one of the fastest Unlimited FR NA powered cars in Japan, some say the world. Here is a website to Saclam's homepage: Saclam homepage |

Those mysterious tubes? They're Helmholtz resonators. Their length/size orifice is tuned to resonate at a specific frequency which you hope is 180 degrees out of phase (opposite) of the sound you are attempting to attenuate. They can cancel out a specific sound or resonance. Think of it as a narrow band muffler with a high attenuation factor.
The next time you are under the hood of any car, look at the intake tract and you'll see an odd "box" hanging onto the intake tube that goes nowhere. It's also a Helmholtz resonator. If any of you work in an industrial setting, look at the exhaust outlets of your generator, boiler, etc. for an industrial sized version.

I'd love to, buttttttttttt, we unfortunately reside in a private community (never again) and I am a past Board of Directors member so I have to put on a good face (never again). My wife has actually been hinting at one. And yes, at this point in the exhaust game players, I feel Saclam beat them all on sound. The Saclam sounds like it's ready to leave the pits and head to the starting line—intoxicating!

Wait, this thing is just from the Y-pipe back, isn't it? So they don't even replace the factory y-pipe?

That's correct. They do mention, on one of their blogs, a header system to improve performance that they also show a picture of (a bit hard to see the entire header as it is installed and they are taking the photograph atop the engine bay); the factory Y pipe is most likely replaced in that situation, but with an aftermarket Y.

Other goodies to be announced soon from what we have been told as seen in some photos.. but hard to tell as a lot of prototypes don't always make it into production from my experience.
Jim you should just neutral your car into the community, pick up some speed before entering... j/k. Let us know if we can help. -Jeff |

Good looks and a mean note are cool, but what do the HP/Torque gains look like? For almost 3 grand this system better produce a significant gain. If not, then in my opinion, it's no better then all of the millions of crap noise makers kids install for $50 on their old Honda Civics.
Where's the beef? Show Me the money! Dyno chart please!

But on a serious note, nobody has ever posted dyno charts on Saclam's exhaust. It's a luxury exhaust, hardly think you would see significant gains over others such as Amuse, Stillen, etc. Last edited by RedComet; 01-22-2010 at 09:26 AM. |

I've never heard the term "luxury exhaust" before, but I guess that best describes it, unless someone posts a dyno chart to prove differently.
