F.I. CBE and LTH. What intake did you go with?
I am looking for those that are currently running the set up that I will be once my product is complete. I put in the order yesterday with Tony and it should be ready to ship August 20t-27. So Does anybody have this set up and if so what intake did you go with and why? Which in your experience seemed to give you optimal gains? Right now I just have a Stillen UD pulley and K&N drop ins. Sept. I will have the exhaust and headers done, with probably an NST overdrive alternator pulley. Any advice on intakes would be great. I am thinking about the Injen long tubes or the Stillen 3g long tubes.

I currently have the F.I. LTH's and 18" SS CBE.
As for intakes, I have the K&N Drop Ins and COBB Post MAF tubes. The reason I went that route is the stock intake is actually very well designed to maximize power. So it didn't justify spending so much for a full CAI up front. That's why I didn't just buy one up front since I was modding on a budget. Now that I have all the rest done, I will be going with the Stillen Gen III's due to them having the most promise with gains, and several people having problems with Injens and water intake. Eventually I will be getting the NST Lightweight pulley set, and once I have those and the Stillens I'll go get tuned to incorporate all my mods and pull out the last ounce of power. Then begins the long wait before Forced Induction.

WOW that's great sounds like we are on the same page. Since I am going home for only a month I'm just gonna do the GTM SC stage 2 before next summer, probably buy it and do install that month. Hey you wouldn't happen to have a sound clip of your car do you? The FI website only has the one with 12"inch resonators. I ordered the same setup you have. Hmm I didn't know about the problems with the Injen but I may go with the Stillen if anybody else has more info on them. When are you gonna have your mods finished? |

I have the dyno's of my current setup, and then if you watch the canyon run videos, (especially the rear facing one) you'll get a good taste of the exhaust through the RPMs And yeah, lol that's the F.I. I want as well S/C Stage II. I'll be buying my Stillens and Pulleys here prolly next month, get those installed and hopefully tuned in the Aug/Sept timeframe...

I hear that here and there that the intake is well built. So would you say that aftermarket intakes are a waste of money? I am looking to get more hp out of my vehicle.

In other words, you'll hear folks say "I got 18 whp from my xyz CAI". That may be true if it's their first mod, but if they do CBE, test pipes or LTH and THEN add a CAI, they'll only net maybe 6-8 whp instead, but their CBE combo might have added over 20+whp to their car. Also, make sure that whatever CAI you get isn't gaining power partly by leaning out your AFR vs. true gains from better/more air flow. The stock intake is a CAI, it has a section that extends out of the engine compartment to grab cold air from behind the bumper. |

I went with the K&N Typhoon kit. Most say that it is not a cold air intake but when I had my car on the dyno with the fans blowing through the front grill (same as driving down the road) I could feel a good amount of air flowing through the stock intake box inlets. With just the intake, NST pulleys, and Berks Cats I put down 310rwhp so IMO you cant beat it for the price

on monday or tuesday, im ordering the Stillen Gen 3 intakes for my car, very first mod for it. and since it already looks great, go for the power with the first upgrade. everyone wins in the end with that decision.
