Do I need to tune my Z after Berk HFC install?

Hello,

Will I have to tune my Z after installing Berk HFCs? I'm getting mixed results on this topic when searching forums. Some say you do and some say you don't. If so, what tune software/equipment should I buy. Any help would be much appreciated. Especially if you've installed Berk HFCs and CBE.

I'm wondering the same thing. My ERZ HFCs just arrived today and I'm hoping to have them on in a couple days.

Yes, absolutely.

Arnold K. Thanks!

Can you recommend tune equipment and/or software?

Thanks again!

I personally use UpRev's Osiris.

When I had bolt-ons on my 350Z, my AFR was way off and a tune did wonders to really brighten up the car.

Thanks! :tiphat:

You don't really know until it's on the dyno. With ART pipes, exhaust, intake manifold, my tuner said my AFR did not warrant a tune.

Where was your AFR that your shop said it wasn't worth it?

HFC and Cat-back alone you probably wont NEED a tune. But it will help get some extra ponies out of her for sure.

My AFR was surprisingly on the money with Stillen G3, Berk HFC and CBE. Tuner was unable to extract any more top-end power but did lean out the tip-in a bit.

So far all I have right now are drop ins and the HFCs should be on this weekend, would that require a tune? My FI TDX CBE arrives in August what about then?

I wouldn't worry about it.

But you drive a nice car. If you can afford the tune, it will definitely help and only make the car more enjoyable (as long as a good tuner tunes it).

From what I hear, you don't need a tune until you get HFCs, an exhaust, and intakes. If you get the tune now and then get any other bolt-on mod later, you may need to have it re-tuned.

Strap it on a dyno and see how the AFR's are after the install. Every car is different, some might need a tune and others might not.
