Yeah most of the time the butt dyno is dead wrong, and the ear dyno is a big part of the equation. It always seems like I lose ~20hp in the upper range when I turn up Pandora in my car, because the music is deadening my ability to hear all the higher-pitch frequencies of the engine sound

Interesting. Didn't feel like it with my car. Still, you might also consider a good tune after all your installs. That should take care of the problem plus add a couple of more hp/tq.
