restrictor or PCV valve?

I just put on my K&N cold air intake. It feels great! I noticed that one of the hoses that came off, from the drivers side valve cover I think, has a restictor or PCV valvein it. the new hose does not have this and I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with oil getting sucked into the intake at all?....... noticable oil levels dropping, when they did not drop before? sooty tailpipes?

Thanks!!

I was pretty sure that the PCV mainly sucked unspent fuel back in to the intake for combustion. Even if a bit of oil is mixed in there, it shouldn't be enough for you to notice a considerable drop in the level. I'm wondering if you have a consumption issue (seems to be somewhat common on the Z, possibly more so on the 2009) and you just now noticed it in the absence of the valve. Additionally even if the PCV valve was there, the oil that leaked past the seals wouldn't go back into the pan/block via the intake so it really wouldn't positively affect your levels.

No no! I've had no problem! I was just curious if anyone devloped any symptoms. Was a huge issue on my C5 Vett though! The LS-1 was notorious for pulling oil in through the PCV system. Had to use a catch can. I am just hoping that in the absence of the valve, oil, or at least more oil than I'd like, will be sucked in.

I gotcha... I thought that last line was symptoms you were experiencing.
