I was pretty sure that the PCV mainly sucked unspent fuel back in to the intake for combustion. Even if a bit of oil is mixed in there, it shouldn't be enough for you to notice a considerable drop in the level. I'm wondering if you have a consumption issue (seems to be somewhat common on the Z, possibly more so on the 2009) and you just now noticed it in the absence of the valve. Additionally even if the PCV valve was there, the oil that leaked past the seals wouldn't go back into the pan/block via the intake so it really wouldn't positively affect your levels.
