OBD II scanner plus FI headers
The two dont seem to mix. Period!!! Nothing but CEL's since the install. I have had two different codes come up with my obd II Kal reader. Both referring to the exhaust.

If the codes your getting are of the Cat failure variety, apparently exhaust gas is still getting to your o2 sensor. If you can get your Z up on a lift, remove the o2 sensor and take some medium coarseness steel wool and put it in the tube in front of the o2 sensor. Worked for me on my tC.
Can you post exactly which codes are getting kicked? |
One of the codes he got was P0057. Sounds to me like one of the O2 extensions (solder point) may have come loose. It won't be that difficult to get to them now that you have done it before. Take them off and inspect. I have put about 400 miles on my LTH so far with no issues. Knock on wood!
Steel wool trick is a good idea. It worked for me on my S2k for a while. Eventually burnt off though. |

You might have to get yourself a new o2 sensor as the area to soldier the wires to in an attempt to fix it isn't very large, and if it's failed once, it will fail again. This is why F.I. installs extra wire between the sensor and the plug. Yeah the Steel Wool is usually a Temp fix till you can solve a bigger problem, but if you have access to a lift at your lesiure, I dunno if it's that bad to put it up once every 6 months to swap it out? |
P0420 AND P0057. Car was great for the first 1,000 miles but now its giving me a headache. Anyways last night I was on the interstate in 5th gear wot and at about 130mph I heard a loud pop from the engine compartment. Sounded like it backfired through the intake manifold. After driving normal for about 30 miles the cel came on and threw the P0057 code. It says its the heated oxygen sensor bank two. Does anyone know which side is bank two (driver or passenger side??)

I've heard anywhere from $400-800 depending on who/where you go and how long it takes... |

Thanks! |
I have been reading online and some cars have a fuse for the heated oxygen sensor. Does anyone know if the Z has a fuse for this?
